Summary:
The Rolling Pirates and zombies from Thriller Bark announce that Oars has finally been defeated. As the Straw Hats rest after the decisive battle, Usopp immediately realizes that the fight is not over as he yells at Luffy to get all the shadows. Lola suggests waking up Moria and making him return the shadows since the sun is just rising. Moria, who has regained consciousness, says there is no need to wake him up as she tells Luffy that he caused so much trouble because of his Thriller Bark. Moria tells Luffy that even though he has a great crew, they are nowhere near ready for the New World. As Moria states that due to losing his comrades while they were alive and that zombies are immortal, he proceeds to absorb many shadows from all over Thriller Bark using Shadow’s Asgard technique. Moria deduces that Luffy absorbed 100 shadows to become Nightmare Luffy, noting that he absorbs 1000 shadows into his own body as he grows. Demonstrating his new power from absorbing 1000 shadows, Moria continues to strike the ground, creating a huge crack.
The morning sun begins to peek across the island, revealing the pirate’s body as it disappears, the others hiding in the shadows of the buildings and forest for now. As the Rolling Pirates retreat, Lola stays put, noting that the Straw Hats aren’t backing down either, despite also missing their shadows, and also tells them that if they got the Straw Hats into this mess, they should stand firm with them and not run away. . As Luffy tells his crew that they are going wild and that they should take care of everything after that, Zoro and Robin notice that Moria is barely in control and that he has given up reason in exchange for power due to his pride. By activating Gear 2, Luffy prepares his final battle with Moria.
