Summary:
Two days after the Enies Lobby incident, the Sea Train is seen entering Water 7, pulling two flatbed trucks full of wood along with its normal passenger cars. Zoro is on Scrap Island, looking at what’s left of his destroyed Yubashiri and remembering the day he got it. Paulie and the other boatmen are in the streets of Water 7. He divides the city into sections and gives orders to the various dock divisions which parts of the city to repair. He then reminds them that they still have regular work hours so they will have to repair the city between shifts. On the northern edge of town, the Franky Family is repairing Franky’s house. One of them jokes that they’ll be camping outside again tonight. They tell their royal bulls to rest as ordered by Dr. Chopper.
Outside the gate to Dock 1, people demand to meet the Straw Pirates and apologize for the false accusations, including the press. People are also trying to get pictures there and one person is trying to apply for the position of Khalifa’s secretary. Oimo and Kashii help put the larger pieces of buildings and the gate back into place. They tell Usopp, who is sitting on Kashia’s shoulder, that they are going to go back to Elbaf since they can’t go to the Little Garden and ask him if he would like to come with them. At Galley-La’s temporary headquarters/Iceburg’s house, Franky tells Iceburg that he burned the Pluton blueprints and asks Iceburg what he’s drawing.
Iceburg tells him that the day Water 7 will sink into the ocean is getting closer and closer, and suggests a way to make the city float on the ocean. Then they call Den Den Mushi. Zambai excitedly tells Franky that the thing they bought with Beli200,000,000 has finally arrived.
The Straw Hats have a part of the house reserved just for them. Kokoro enters with Chimney and Gonbe and tells Yokozuna to stay outside. He comments on how good it is that they are all awake now that they have been asleep for the past two days. He sees Luffy eating and comments on how “The Pirate King” is as active as ever. Sanji tells her that Luffy doesn’t like to skip meals after fights, so he somehow learned to eat in his sleep. Kokoro tells Nami that the Log Pose should be ready in a few days. With a very depressed look on her face, Nami says that maybe it’s ready, but they can’t go anywhere and that all their money and possessions are gone. Sanji explains how they stored everything at the inn where they were staying.
Kokoro then tells them that they have guests who might have something to say about it. They go outside and Nami tackles one of her orange trees in a hug. The men who brought them explained how they had taken them after kicking out the pirates, believing them to be murderers. Chopper and Robin arrive after returning from Franky Family’s injury check. Chopper reports to Sanji that he never took his eyes off of Robin and Sanji salutes him. Nami excitedly shows them their newly returned property. Franky then enters with Mozu and Kiwi to check on the pirates.
Franky then tells them a story about a tree in a war-torn country that never fell and people would always return to it, even if the country was in ruins. He tells them the tree is called the Treasure Tree Adam. He continues that wood from the tree does appear on the black market from time to time, but it’s not cheap. Sanji interrupts when he realizes that Franky bought the wood with their stolen money. Franky tells them that he has the plans and materials needed to build his dream ship. He asks the crew if they would sail on it when he is done. The Straw Hats are excited and accept Franky’s offer.
In the city, Zoro is running around frantically, he discovered something problematic, but he got lost. In the city’s harbor is a naval ship that some say belongs to Vice Admiral Garp, the legendary marine who drove away Gol D. Roger. Vice Admiral Garp marches outside Galley-La’s temporary HQ and specifically tells two subordinates to wait outside. Garp breaks through the wall and enters the Straw Hats’ room.
He asks them if they are straw pirates and tells them that he brought someone he wants Luffy to meet. Everyone prepares to fight, but before they can do anything, Garp walks around them and slams Luffy’s head into the floor to wake him up. To everyone’s surprise, Luffy screams in pain. Garp then says that no one can escape his “fist of love”. He then takes off his mask and tells Luffy that he heard he did reckless things. Luffy is shocked to see that the man behind the mask is none other than his grandfather, and everyone else is even more surprised that Luffy’s grandfather is a high-ranking Marine.
