Summry:
The chapter begins with a demonstration of how each Straw Hat pirate and Franky progress in their battles. Zoro and Sogeking are on the fourth floor fighting Jabra and Kaku who are holding keys #1 and #5. Sanji is in a heap on the first floor, still smooth thanks to Kalif’s ability. Chopper clings to the tower wall in his Monster Point. Nami and Kalifa are fighting on the fifth floor. Nami has Key #3 and attempts to take Key #2 from Kalif. Outside the tower, Franky lies exhausted on his back while Fukurou and Kumadori are defeated and unconscious. And inside the Bridge of Hesitation, Luffy prepares to fight Rob Lucci. Spandam runs up the stairs, dragging Robin with him. He is furious that the pirate followed them this far. He pulls out the Den Den Mushi and tries to recruit the rest of the CP9 agents. When he doesn’t understand why they aren’t responding, Robin asks him what he’s holding. Spandam looks at his hand and realizes he’s talking to, and holds the Golden Den Den Mushi button to activate Buster Call.
The Silver Den Den Mushi at Marine Headquarters begins to vibrate. Someone reports this and that Aokiji requested a Buster Call and confirmed it came from Enies Lobby. Vice Admiral John Giant gives the orders. He ordered the five vice admirals in the challenge area to respond. He ordered ten battleships to be ready and vice admirals to assemble. The soldier tells him that they will reach Enies Lobby in thirty minutes. Spandam is now talking to Baby Den Den Mushi, the right one. Caliph answers. He tells her that he screwed up and accidentally triggered Buster Call. The Den Den Mushi he’s talking into is also linked to the intercom in Enies Lobby, so everyone on the island could hear it.
The soldiers are shocked and cannot believe what they are hearing. Lucci and Luffy listen to the conversation on Baby Den Den Mushi from the room they are in and hear Robin’s voice asking Spandam what he did and telling him to undo it immediately as there are dire consequences. Nami and Kalifa listen, as do the captive leaders of the Galley-La Company and the Franky Family. Oimo and Kashii, also tied up, are out of breath and smile at the announcement as a soldier nearby recognizes Spandam’s voice. Spandam is laughing now as if he wasn’t afraid of Buster Call. Then he tries to make himself think that it wasn’t an accident. He says that as the head of CP9, he ordered Buster Call to deliver Robin to the World Government without any problems.
He then asks himself if this is a good reason, since at least all the pirates would be dead. Robin tells him it’s foolish to think that way. Buster Call is devoid of all emotion. He will burn anything and everything on Enies Lobby, including the island itself. He sacrifices everyone to accomplish his goal, a focal fire attack. Robin tells Spandam that he doesn’t know what happened twenty years ago on Ohara.
Spandam shrugs her words and says that this is an important case for the world government. Ever since Cutty Flam burned the plans for Pluton, Robin is the only way to revive the old weapons. He goes on to say that the military power that will overturn the era will depend on Pluto and anyone who dies as a result will be considered a victim of the future. He doesn’t realize that everything he says is transmitted across the island to the Den Den Mushi he is holding. All the soldiers listening are stunned that they will be sacrificed. Robin asks Spandam what human lives are to him. Spandam tells her that if people have to die to save more people, then they will be killed without hesitation. For true justice to be enacted, there must be a sacrifice.
He tells her that the soldiers are better off dead anyway since they failed to stop the pirates from invading. Robin tells Spandam that the Den Den Mushi he is holding is still out. Realizing to his horror that everyone heard the conversation, Spandam tries to pretend to be Luffy, but no one believes him. Robin tries to tell everyone to run because they won’t survive the Buster Call. Spandam knocks her out of the way and hangs up saying she is not saying anything unnecessary.
CP9 and the straw pirates stop their fight for a moment to discuss the Buster Call. Jabra is angry with Spandam and Zoro realizes that they are in danger. Kalifa tells Nami that the pirates have no hope left. Nami tells her not to worry as they are used to dire situations like this. Kokoro laughs and says that things are getting more interesting. The soldiers try to get off the island, leaving their prisoners unattended. Zambai asks why they are running when the warships are coming. Paulie explains that the entire island will be burned down. He then yells at the fleeing Marines to untie them if they are going to run. Spandam walks down the stairs to Robin, who falls off him and punches her. He asked her how she would take responsibility if the pirates escaped.
Luffy talks to Lucci and asks where Robin’s voice came from. Lucci points to the door on the other side of the room and tells him that her voice came from behind it. Luffy attacks Lucci with a kick and Lucci easily defends. He tells Luffy that he can’t let him through. Luffy punches him in the stomach, but it doesn’t affect Lucci. Luffy then goes for a high kick, but Lucci catches him with a kick of his own. He then punches Luffy right in the face. Luffy then dodges a high kick as they both bring their hands back and prepare to strike. The chapter ends with their fist meeting. The force of the impact is strong enough to blow away everything in the room.
