Summary:
Conis takes Luffy, Sanji, and Usopp to the city of Angel Island; they notice that the citizens try to avoid them or view them with suspicion because they are considered criminals. While walking down the street, he comes across a statue that symbolizes vearth, the idol of the citizens of heaven. As they leave town and head for the harbor, McKinley is seen secretly following them.
Arriving at the port, Luffy is excited by all the oddly shaped boats, but is disappointed when Conis introduces them to the ship they will be going on, the Karasumaru. After receiving instructions on how to get to the milky way, Luffy notices Conis shaking with fear or anxiety. Conis reveals that it might be a trap to take them away instead of letting them rejoin the rest of the crew. She relents and despite the other citizens’ warnings, admits that she was the one who requested the Super Express Fast Shrimp; fearing that if she didn’t, her own life would be in danger. Seeing her crying and begging for forgiveness, Luffy scolds her not for betraying them, but for revealing the truth to them and risking her life again.
As Luffy finishes his sentence, a huge bolt of lightning comes down from the sky, right where he and Conis were standing. As the smoke clears, the citizens murmur about what has happened, and one claims that no one will escape the wrath of the god Enel. Fortunately, Conis and Luffy were saved at the last moment by a Knight of the Sky who was named Gan Fall, the previous God of Skypiea.
As Gan Fall releases Luffy back to his crewmates, he assures them that he will protect Conise from any harm; and asks them what their plans are now that they have learned of this island and the power of God. Luffy replies that he wants nothing to do with God or his island, but he still has to go there to save his friends. The Three Straw Hats board a boat and begin sailing towards the Upper Yard.
