 Summary:

Igaram wakes up sweating from a nightmare of Vivi announcing her intention to become a pirate. Frantically, he rushes to her room and bursts in, where he instead finds her being dressed by his wife, Terracotta, and another palace servant, quickly earning his wrath for his intrusion. Dumbfounded and embarrassed, he is beaten and kicked out when it is discovered that he actually has nothing to say. After leaving, he notices that Cobra was there as well. Cobra tells Igaram that his wife is a scary woman and reveals that he was also beaten. This infuriates Igarama and asks the king what exactly he tried to do.
Vivi is surprised that her dress isn’t too tight, but Terracotta tells her that this is exactly how a princess should look. She comments on how the square is already filling up with people, even though she told them the princess’s speech wasn’t until 10 o’clock. She figured it made sense though, since the speech was delayed by 2 years: Vivi was originally supposed to give her coming-of-age speech when she was 14 years old. Vivi wonders if she can say anything of note, but Terracotta assures her that she just needs to show that she has matured into adulthood. Cobra arranged for every citizen of Arabasta to hear her speech. In another area, Chaka mentions to Igaram that there is nothing they can do about the battle in their port.
In the port, the Straw Hats started a battle with the marines. Luffy yells at them to fire the cannonballs as he can actually repel them as the Going Merry’s hull has been pierced by several iron spears. Nami instructs the crew to prepare for the next one, and Chopper, who has been repairing the damage, suggests that he can’t keep up. They are outnumbered eight ships to one, and the formation of marines they are surrounded by makes it almost impossible for them to pursue or escape. Jango and Fullbody brag about their unit’s formation. Luffy is surprised because he remembers Jango as a pirate while Sanji doesn’t remember Fullbody at all. Fullbody flaunts his new powers and Jango attempts to hypnotize the crew, but they are blinded by a devastating blow to their ship. Luffy mistakenly believes it was Usopp and praises him accordingly. As Usopp tries to brag about the exploit, Mr. 2’s subordinates inform him that there is a problem in the form of Hina’s “Black Cage”. Luffy has no idea who he is and Bon Kurei tries to explain. Hina’s fleet approaches the garrison. He comments that they have weakened the Straw Hats, but warns his subordinates not to get too cocky. He asks them all to back off once they get to them as they will only get in the way.
Bon Kurei frantically explains to the Straw Hats that they need to escape through the opening they created to the south. Luffy tells him that he can go, but that the Straw Hats will stay. Bon Kurei is horrified by this as Nami explains that they promised to be at the East Port. He wonders if they’re doing it for some treasure, to which Luffy happily replies that they’re picking up a friend. Bon Kurei is even more taken aback by this, surprised that the crew would go to such lengths for a friend. Back in town, the square was completely packed to witness Princess Vivi give her speech. At the Cobra Palace, he enters his daughter’s chambers (this time with her permission). He starts to speak, but before he can finish the thought, he’s pleasantly surprised by how much Vivi looks like her mother. Vivi mentions that she has something important to discuss, and both Cobra and Igaram prepare for the worst.
On board the Going Merry, Bon Kurei’s subordinates are confused by his sudden change in behavior. He asks them and the Straw Hats if they can eat the same food after knowing they abandoned a friend who risked himself to save another friend. On Hina’s ship, one of the marines notices that the Going Merry and Bon Kurei are now going in opposite directions. He concludes that the Bon Kurei ship must be bait for the Straw Hats to escape with Merry. However, after spotting the Straw Hats aboard the Bon Kurei ship, Hina instead says that the Going Merry must actually be a decoy. Hina sees Luffy aboard the Bon Kurei ship with her binoculars to confirm this and immediately approaches the vessel.
Nami comments that they now have three minutes and must go full speed ahead. After closing the gap to the Bon Kurei ship, Hina confronts the Straw Hats. However, upon closer inspection, it is revealed that they are actually impersonated by various members of Bon Kurei’s crew, while he himself used his powers to mimic Luffy’s appearance. One of Hina’s men comments on how the Going Merry is now returning to the eastern port of Alubarna, and Bon Kurei chides Hina for falling into his trap. He announces his crew’s reputation as masters of disguise, and more importantly, their status as Luffy’s friends. With this, he invites Hina to come at him if she dares, and a battle ensues. As the Straw Hats sail away, Luffy, Chopper, Usopp, and Sanji promise to never forget Bon Kurei’s sacrifice.
