Summary:
Luffy and Sanji arrive at Nami’s home island. The two regroup with Zoro and Johnny. Meanwhile, the Arlong pirates demonstrate their incredible strength by easily destroying a naval ship led by Commodore Pudding.
The sea monster Momoo drags Sanji and Luffy’s ship to shore at full speed. Luffy and Sanji are then sent flying into the sky. Momoo hits the shore headfirst and dives into the sea in pain. At the same time, Zoro is urgently trying to find Usopp. He hears a loud sound but pays no attention to it until he is caught in Sanji and Luffy’s unconventional landing. Zoro explains that they have to hurry to save Usopp, who was captured by Arlong before he was killed. Zoro is about to run when Johnny appears and informs him that Usopp has already been killed by Nami. Everyone is shocked to hear this.
Meanwhile, the survivors of Gosa village observe a naval ship approaching the shore. It is led by Commodore Pudding Pudding with the intention of freeing the island’s inhabitants. The commodore tells his men that their goal will be to rescue the survivors from the island as well as eliminate the pirates that inhabit it, as their sense of justice prevents them from overlooking the pirate base.
Arlong questions the existence of the 77th Marine Corps as he has never heard of them before. He concludes that they must be new, so he tells his lieutenants to either buy them for 2,000,000 Beli or get rid of them if they refuse the bribe. Just as he finishes, his crew warns him of an obstructing cannonball coming his way. Arlong then catches the cannonball with his open mouth and crushes it with his monstrous jaw force. He spits out the remains and tells Kuroobi to cancel the meeting. Arlong’s top officers, Hatchan, Chew and Kuroobi offer to get rid of the marines. Moments later, Chew jumps aboard a naval ship and attacks everyone on board. At the same time, Kuroobi rips off the ship’s rudder and Hatchan pushes it into a cliff. The result of this combination is the creation of a massive vortex that sucks in the ship and likely kills everyone on board.
When the officers return, Arlong apologizes for putting the three through all the trouble. They replied that it was nothing due to the power of their fishmen and the maps Nami had drawn, claiming themselves to be “invincible”. Chew then asks Arlong if he would let Nami go once he pays off his debt of 100 million bellies, as he is an invaluable member of the Arlong Empire. Arlong replies that he would rather die than break a promise about money. Back at Luffy, Luffy yells at Johnny and grabs him by the collar, telling him that what he is saying is nonsense and that Nami would never hurt any of her crew members. Just then, Nami appears and asks Luffy who he calls his crewmate.
