In the mirror world, although Luffy cannot touch him, he is able to tire Katakuri by dodging his blows. Luffy attempts to activate Gear 4, but Katakuri uses his awakened powers to stop him. The sweet commander decides to end the battle as he is late for merienda and buries Luffy in a deep pile of mochi.
Katakuri prepares to use Mochi Tsuki on Luffy in the air, but Luffy manages to use the wall to bounce off Mogura. Luffy tries to counterattack, but Katakuri throws him into the wall and hits him with Mogura again. Luffy narrowly avoids being impaled, and when Katakuri tries another punch, he ducks to hide under him. However, this throws him up straight into the ceiling and Katakuri kicks him back against the wall. Luffy falls to the ground just before Katakuri hits his spot on the wall with Mochi Tsuki and is completely dazed. Luffy manages to dodge Katakuri’s other attacks, but any attempt he makes to attack results in him being injured. However, Katakuri notices that Luffy is tiring him out like no other, and when he attacks again, Luffy tries to grab Moguru. Katakuri pulls him back just in time, and when Luffy tries to attack again, he throws the straw hat to the ground and pins him with his hand. Katakuri prepares to hit Luffy at close range, but Luffy manages to stop Moguru with his feet. This allows him to hit the ground and escape from Katakuri’s grasp.
In Sweet City on Whole Cake Island, Mont-d’Or gets mad at Pekoms for crying over Pedro’s death. Count Niwatori states that he can sympathize with Pekoms and recalls how Pedro sacrificed his eye to Big Mom five years ago to witness the “Dawn of the World”. Now that Pedro has sacrificed his life to free the Straw Hats, Niwatori becomes concerned about the threat they may pose to Big Mom. Mont-d’Or scoffs at the idea of them challenging Big Mom, calling their actions lucky, but Niwatori points out that several things have moved somewhat since their arrival, which worries him.
On the seas of Totto Land, the Fire Tank Pirates sail their ship Nostra Castello away from the fleet led by Custard, the sixth daughter of the Charlotte family. Bege has the ship turn and fire at Custard’s fleet, and after a few tries manages to hit the Tartes right next to Custard’s ship. Custard is distracted arranging the Tartes repair, allowing the Fire Tank pirates to escape, and she reports this to Mont-d’Or. In the Germa Kingdom, Charlotte Dosmarche attacks Ichiji and briefly overpowers him with his rapidly spinning twin blade. Charlotte Nusstorte similarly catches Niji off guard with a tornado created by his hat. However, the Vinsmokes are ultimately undeterred by these attacks and eventually take down Big Mom’s 10,000 strong army of pirates. Niji contacts Mont-d’Or and impersonates Nusstorte to trick him into believing that the Big Mom Pirates have won and the Vinsmokes find out the status of the Straw Hats.
Back in the Mirror World, Katakuri uses his awakened Devil Fruit powers to turn the ground in front of him into mochi, throwing Luffy off balance. Wrapping Luffy in mochi, Katakuri predicts that Luffy will respond by activating Gear 4. So before Luffy can blow on his arm, Katakuri is able to prevent his transformation by pummeling him with mochi tendrils. As the chefs wait in the shadows with carts of food, Katakuri gets upset that Luffy made him late for merienda. Giving Luffy his due respect, Katakuri ends their battle by turning several walls into mochi and piles them on top of Luffy, intending to suffocate him. Katakuri then heads in as the buried Luffy stops fighting under the weight of the mochi.
