Long summary
Big Mom’s enraged army stops to confront Luffy, who tells Nami and Kingbaum to run. Nami reluctantly complies and the enraged army does not believe in Luffy’s fighting abilities in his current physical state. However, Luffy ignores their words and activates Gear 2, plowing through dozens of chess soldiers. The two Chess Soldiers manage to grab Luffy and allow the others to jump on him, but Luffy repels them by inflating himself. More chess soldiers shoot arrows at Luffy, but he breathes more air into his body and turns around, exhaling hard enough to create a vortex that blows away everything around him. Nami and Kingbaum see this as the latter carries the former away, and are stunned and horrified by the sight.
In Pudding’s room, she confesses to Sanji that she arranged for the Straw Hats to land on the shores of Whole Cake Island and bring him there to reunite with them, but she was unable to keep her word. However, Sanji replies that he wouldn’t come to the shore anyway, as it would endanger the lives of his friends and destroy his hands. Pudding reveals that all the people who arranged to marry into the Charlotte family have those exploding handcuffs on, and Sanji then takes off his mask to reveal his battered face. He tells Pudding that this is the treatment he receives from his family, which caused him to run away from them 13 years ago. But now they are threatening the people who treated him like family, and when there was no way out of this situation, he gave up.
Back in the outskirts of Sweet City, Luffy continues to pound the chess soldiers, but Charlotte Opera goes on the attack and grabs Luffy’s cream tentacles. The sweetness of the cream causes Luffy to burn, but he manages to get over it. However, he is then confronted by Bobbin, who shakes his head from side to side and sends out waves that cause Luffy to fall asleep. With Luffy incapacitated, Bobbin draws his sword and lunges at him, but Nami and Kingbaum suddenly come to the rescue. Enraged, the army members say that Kingbaum committed a mutiny against the Big Mom Pirates, although the dude did not return voluntarily as he was forced to return by Nami’s Vivre card. Although Nami and Kingbaum are back on Luffy’s side, the battle is still extremely uneven and the fighting continues. Meanwhile, in the mirror world, Randolph starts attacking Chopper and Carrot. He manages to overpower Carrot, who is unable to dodge due to her shackles, but Chopper catches Randolph’s punch and tells Carrot they are done fighting as he hurls the rabbit towards the ceiling.
Despite Kingbaum’s pleas, the chess soldiers climb on top of him to reach Nami. However, they are all suddenly incapacitated by the power of her Vivre card, much to Galette’s shock. Meanwhile, Counter, Cadenza, and Cabaletta all run towards Luffy, who attacks them with the Elephant Gun. The trio suit up in Busoshoku Haki and square off against Luffy. After a long fight, Opera then comes and douses Luffy in cream and burns his legs. Eventually, Luffy can’t take the pain anymore and gives up, allowing Opera’s brothers to overpower him and send him flying. When this happens, Sanji thinks about what his teammates are going through to get him back and says that his adventure with them is over and that he doesn’t want them to wrestle. Nami hits several chess soldiers with lightning, but more keep coming and gets the idea to use the storm clouds in the air. She releases another Weather Egg and draws a massive amount of storm energy into her cloud, allowing her to unleash a large amount of purple lightning that destroys every chess soldier in sight. Everyone in the area is stunned by the sight and Luffy’s desire to fight to stay and wait for Sanji is renewed. Back in Pudding’s room, Pudding cries apologetically for making Sanji’s life hell by marrying him and keeping him away from her friends, but he tells her that she has nothing to apologize for. Pudding tries to reassure Sanji that he won’t make their marriage hell, and he hugs her, deciding to pursue the best life he’s been given by marrying her tomorrow without any problems. As she seals this promise, the lightning from Nami’s attack lights up the room.
