Luffy and Bartolomeo then work together to defeat Aveyron, and when Bill hears about it, he orders the underground mine to be buried.
In an underground tunnel in the Silver Mine, Bartolomeo frees himself from a pile of ore in which he was buried after falling. He searches for Luffy, thinking he fell into a nearby chasm as he has a straw hat on the edge of it, but to his relief, Luffy calls out from another pile of ore, from which Bartolomeo frees him. Desire then picks herself up from her fall to see her battleship in ruins. When Bartolomeo returns Luffy’s straw hat, Desire asks Bartolomeo to let her have Luffy, and Bartolomeo refuses, asking her why they are enemies. Luffy looks up and wonders why there are a lot of train tracks above them, and Aveyron rides a series of tracks elsewhere. Desire tries to contact someone but can’t get through, and admits to Bartolomeo that she doesn’t know about the tracks despite being in the Silver Pirate Alliance. Suddenly, Aveyron alerts the trio that he is coming and rolls straight to Luffy.
Aveyron reveals that he ate the Koro Koro no Mi, allowing him to roll on the tracks, and it is his duty to take out anyone who stumbles into the underground mines. Luffy, Bartolomeo, and Desire manage to get out of Aveyron’s way as he speeds past them, and Desire wonders why he tried to attack her as well. Aveyron turns and spins the front wheels back into his hands, reaches into the hatch on his back and pulls out the bombs. Bartolomeo and Desire push the encased Luffy along the tracks as they run away from Aveyron, who throws his bombs at them. Bartolomeo and Desire end up running in place on a rolling Luffy as they go through turns and jumps on the rails. They eventually reach a fork in the road and decide to go right, but Aveyron reveals that they are headed for Hell as the pirates roll and fall into a deep chasm. Aveyron reports to Bill where the pirates are headed as he prepares to follow them, and in his throne room, Bill assures the Desire’s crew that his troops are looking for her.
Luffy, Bartolomeo and Desire get up at the bottom of the abyss and hear Aveyron chasing them. Luffy curses being trapped in a silver ball and Desire brags that Bill’s creations cannot be broken that easily, causing Bartolomeo to question why she is proud of Bill after his subordinate tried to kill her. However, Desire replies that a traitor like him has no right to say that, which confuses him. Desire tells her old friend that when they were younger, they promised to head to the top together, but she went alone with her friends after Bartolomeo decided to help Luffy become the Pirate King. She reveals that tragedy struck her crew as all but four were shot down and killed by an enemy ship. As they floated in the wreckage, they were approached by Bill, who rescued them and accepted them into his alliance, giving Desire his large battleship. Desire says she was glad to meet someone who shared her ideals and that everyone else in the alliance trusted Bill. She captured Luffy to please Bill and also because she knew of Bartolome’s devotion to him. Bartolomeo still refuses to believe Bill, and as Desire argues with him, the trio are suddenly approached by four miners.
The miners take them to a house in the mining colony, where Bartolomeo tries to get rid of the sticky substance binding his hands by immersing him in hot water. The miners discover that the pirates have also been dropped in their place, but they have failed to break the silver orb that Luffy is encased in. Luffy wonders what this place is, and the miners reveal that they were enslaved and forced to work in underground mines. Bill after they failed to bring him treasure and wanted pirates. A horrified Desire runs out, trying to reconcile her vision of Bill with the one presented by the miners. Luffy asks if there is any way to escape, but the miners reveal that Aveyron always thwarts any attempt they make. Aveyron suddenly calls out as they approach the mining colony, and Bartolomeo hastily tries to free his hands. When Aveyron reaches the bottom, Desire confronts him and asks if Bill really ordered him to kill her, which he confirms, causing Desire to rush in and attack him. Aveyron throws many bombs at her but she deflects them all and Bartolomeo frees his hands as the miners cheer for Desire.
Suddenly, Aveyron throws a bomb at Luffy, Bartolomeo, and the miners, knocking them to the ground. He then runs towards Luffy and pulls out a drill that Bill specially made for him to impale Luffy with. He sinks a spinning drill into Luffy’s ball, but the attack is too low and only destroys the ball, freeing Luffy. When Luffy confronts Aveyron, Rail Car Man pulls out his most powerful weapons and charges at his opponent with a giant silver hammer, but Luffy smashes it. Aveyron then fires cannonballs up at Luffy, but Luffy sends them back down with a Gatling Jet, injuring Aveyron. Aveyron then escapes into the mine tunnels, with Luffy and Bartolomeo in pursuit. He is able to maintain his advantage by quickly changing direction, leaving bombs behind each time, but Luffy and Bartolomeo continue in pursuit. After Aveyron dodges a Jet Gatling attack, Bartolomeo tells Luffy to leave it to him and he places a barrier across the track that leads into a loop that returns to them. Aveyron is sent towards Luffy to fly through a loop and Luffy finishes him off with a Jet Bazooka, causing Aveyron to fly backwards and detonate the bombs he left behind, causing him to fly backwards until he returns to the mining colony, stunned and defeated. . The miners and Desire are shocked by Aveyron’s defeat as Luffy and Bartolomeo return and prepare to leave the mining colony.
