One Piece Episode 688

Summary:

At the palace hills, Luffy is still riding Ucy towards the palace, but was disheartened to see that the rest of the Colosseum fighters were ahead of him in the race to fight Doflamingo. After a little help from the Funk brothers showing a shortcut, Luffy and Ucy enter the tunnel. While inside, Law warns Luffy that facing Donquixote Doflamingo while still bound would be suicidal. A call from Robin solves the problem as she sends Leo, Rebecca and Bartolomeo to deliver the cuff keys.

On the plateau, Bartolomeo, Robin, and Rebecca use the unorthodox method of traveling to the flower field of the palace hills by “jumping” using bugs provided by Leo.

Back in the tunnel, the two captains find themselves at a dead end and are surprised to find Doflamingo waiting for them there.

Meanwhile, on platform level 1, Luffy, Ucy, Abddullah, and Jeet and Law attack through the Donquijote family soldiers. Just then, Luffy sees Cavendish saying that they found a shortcut and are going ahead of Luffy. The other warriors charged forward and fought the other soldiers. As Luffy and Ucy are being shot at, Kelly Funk (using Bobby Funk’s body) defends them and tells them to stay away from the Straw Hats. After Kelly reintroduces himself to Luffy, he tells him that he found a secret passage that will lead them to the top of the castle. As they run, Law asks Luffy when he will have the key removed from his bonds. Law questions if he’s really going to fight Doflamingo when he’s handicapped, but Luffy says it’ll all work out, but Law counters how can Luffy stay so positive. Kelly then leads them into a hallway and as they enter, Abddullah and Jeet fall off Ucy, much to the shock of Law and Kelly. Luffy and Law continue when Luffy gets a call from Robin, who tells Luffy that they have the key to Law’s bonds. Robin says they will catch up with Rebecca and Bartolomeo in the Sunflower Fields. Although Luffy reaffirms to Law that it worked, Law cites the sole cause of dumb luck.

Back on the former royal plateau, Bartolomeo, Nico Robin, and Rebecca are confused by Tontatta’s suggestion to take the hornbills to the Flower Field on the 4th level. Leo explains that the bugs instead provide a “jumping service” because humans are too big to fly. They jump off a cliff and notice that the bugs are flying in a circle between them to keep them in the air rather than flying away. Leo goes on to explain that if they land on the roof, they can then jump to gain more height and continue swimming. They head to the Flower Fields, with Leo warning them to watch out for attacks from below.

At the SMILE factory, Franky continues his fight with Senior Pink, but he can’t hurt him as Pink swims out of range. The dwarves notice this as Inhel prepares a plan.

In the tunnel, Law notes that they hit a dead end with water. Just then someone comes from behind and tells them that this is just a tilted room and it turns out to be Doflamingo.
