One Piece Episode 509

Summary:

Zoro tried to return to the sea using the small boat Mihawk gave him, but was unable to get past the human drills. Elsewhere, Brook is caught with long guns as he tries to make peace between them and the locals of Nakamura Island. Back in Amazon Lily, Luffy agrees to Rayleigh’s proposal and decides to return to Marineford.

Zoro wakes up in Mihawk’s castle where Perona is crying over the death of Gecko Moria. Mihawk is annoyed by her crying and tells her that Moria’s death may not be real because when he left the Summit War of Marineford, Moria was still alive. Zoro then asks Mihawk if he knows more about Luffy and also a way to get off the island. Mihawk replies that he doesn’t know anything more about Luffy and tells Zoro that there is a ship he could use to escape the island. Zoro is then seen dragging the ship through the forest and after a while the humandrills attack as Zoro expected. After fighting for a while, Zoro realizes to his surprise that they have started to copy his own sword style, the Three Sword Style. Back at Mihawk’s castle, Perona worries about Zoro. Mihawk tells her to go find him if she’s that worried about him and leaves. Mihawk then appears behind Zoro in the forest and explains how the humandrills learned their violent behavior by observing humans. He then reveals that the kingdom of Shikkearu had a great war years before he moved in, from which the humandrills learned to fight and use weapons. He tells Zoro to go back to the castle and rest. Zoro declines the invitation and continues to fight the human drills.

The shamans on Namakura Island wonder what happened to Brook. Brook then appears and gives them a pile of sheet music. Shamans mistake them for talismans to be used against the Longarm tribe and put them everywhere. At the same time, long arms approach the shamans. Brook explains that the talismans are simply note sheets and the shamans become depressed. He then plays a song for them to give them energy to fight. So they end up capturing many long guns. Brook then gives them a speech about the importance of fighting on their own and tells them to release the long guns as he has made a “devil’s pact” with them. The shamans dismiss them and Brook gives another speech about how fighting is pointless. However, the long arms tie up Brook and carry him away. One of the shamans states that they have a crisis and should summon another devil immediately.

Rayleigh gives Luffy a second option. Both Jinbe and Hancock are surprised by this, saying it’s too harsh. Rayleigh says it’s up to Luffy to decide, so Luffy does. Luffy says he wants to meet his crew and tells them he wants to return to Marineford, the place where his own brother Ace recently died.
