One Piece Episode 468

Summary:

One battle after another, it’s utter chaos on the battlefield. Luffy, along with Jinbo, Ivankov, and the rest of the Newkamas, go to fight the marines, while Buggy plays it safe and decides to team up with Whitebeard to fight the marines. Ace decides to prepare for his execution and face the blade of justice to end the war soon. Moria tries to get Luffy again, but Jinbe takes him instead and quickly defeats him. As Luffy advances, he catches the attention of Tashigi, which startles Smoker and immediately attacks Luffy. Luffy has trouble hitting his enemy, almost getting killed by Smoker before Hancock strikes furiously. Meanwhile, Ivankov confronts Bartholomew Kuma, not knowing why his old friend is attacking him. Donquijote reveals to Doflamingo that Bartholomew Kuma, who Ivankov previously knew, is dead.

Luffy is able to defeat the giant from the Giant Squad, which impresses Ivankov’s men. But they tell him he caught the Marines’ attention. Luffy and co. they are surrounded by countless marines and Sengoku orders them to stop Luffy. Whitebeard’s allies try to advance, but can’t get past the vice admirals. The Marines’ “Bazooka Unit” fires at Whitebeard, but he easily destroys the cannonballs and the unit. Luffy and the 2nd Division of the Whitebeard Pirates advance, just as Ace feels sad that they are risking their lives for him, thinking that he is better off dead. Garp asks Ace “what’s going on?” to which he replies that he will “accept whatever happens to him”, resigning himself to his death.

The Impel Down refugees try to convince Buggy to attack Whitebeard, to which he agrees, although he is actually afraid. This gets worse just as Whitebeard tells him how he remembers him from when he was in Gol D. Roger’s crew. Whitebeard asks him if he will challenge him. Buggy has no choice but to defeat him, much to Galdin’s surprise. Whitebeard then asks him “what will he do after he beats him” as they are surrounded by more marines than even Whitebeard can handle, offering Buggy an alliance. The Impel Down refugees believe it’s because of Buggy’s power, as Galdino thinks to himself, “how can they mess everything up?”. Buggy eventually agrees to join forces with Whitebeard, which Marco states is “so easy to fool” since their targets were mainly prisoners who were really strong. More of Whitebeard’s allies arrive in the bay, prompting the marines to follow Sengoku’s strategy.

The Marines retreat and cease fire as the Marine Ships surround them. Whitebeard asks his allies through Den Den Mushi “Where’s Squard?” to which his men tell him that he “was just there a moment ago”. Whitebeard then asks the Decalvan Brothers to “follow his lead and command all the Pirates” and soon orders them to sink the naval ships around them, much to the brothers’ surprise as they thought it better to make a “frontal attack”, but Whitebeard has soon to voice their concerns about Sengoku’s plan, to which the brothers follow up and contact all allies to sink the ships.

Sengoku is informed that the Whitebeard Pirates and allies are changing their moves. Sengoku and Garp soon praise Whitebeard’s action, but Sengoku remains confident in his plan. Luffy and Ivankov’s men are stopped by some marines, but Ivankov comes to the rescue. Luffy enlists his and Jinbe’s help to clear a path, join forces and brutally dispatch a large number of marines with their attacks. Gecko Moria tries to stop Luffy, but Jinbe decides to handle him. Moria absorbs shadows to strengthen himself and uses his scissors as swords. Jinbe tells him that it “doesn’t do him any good to take over the powers of others”, while Moria replies that “victory matters”.

Jinbe dodges Moria’s attacks and is able to hit him, causing Moria to banish his shadows. Luffy is still blasting through the marines just as Tashigi and Smoker spot him and Smoker quickly attacks Luffy. Ivankov tries to help, but Bartholomew Kuma attacks him. Smoker and Luffy argue and comment on how powerful each other has become. Smoker finally pins Luffy with his Seastone jitte. Boa Hancock then helps Luffy. Surprised, the Smoker asks her if she will “resign from the Shichibukai as well”, to which she replies that she is “deaf with anger” and kills him. Ivankov tries to reason with Kuma, but then Donquijote Doflamingo, arguing that they were friends, tells Ivankov that he is “dead”, much to Ivankov’s surprise.
