Summary:
With Luffy as their inspiration, the other pirates fight back with renewed vigor. Fullbody and Jango try to stop Luffy from advancing further, but he gets past them. Captain Hina uses her devil fruit powers to try to capture him as well, but Luffy escapes quickly and easily, much to the chagrin of the three. Luffy fights multiple vice admirals as they gang up on him along with the zombies that Gecko Moria resurrects. Seeing Luffy in so much danger, Ace yells at Luffy not to come any closer because they both lived their lives and adventures as they wanted, so Luffy shouldn’t be involved anymore. But Luffy ignores all this and continues to fight for Ace because they are brothers. Angered by the turn of the war, Sengoku reveals to everyone that Luffy is the son of a great revolutionary dragon and orders that he must be stopped at all costs. Thoroughly stunned, Whitebeard orders Marco to make sure nothing happens to Luffy.
While everyone is in awe of Luffy, both Koby and Helmeppo start talking about his selflessness. Luffy informs Whitebeard of the plan to execute Ace early. Buggy comments that he hates Luffy’s fearlessness and Ivankov states that only Dragon’s son can be so brave. Whitebeard thanks Luffy for the information and everyone is surprised that they are talking the same way. Luffy begins his attack, blasting through all the marines in his way. Jozu happily follows Luffy and sends his division to follow Luffy. Jinbe, Ivankov and Newkamas then jump into battle. Also, the 14th Division under the command of Speed Jiru is starting to charge. Garp is surprised that Luffy is on the battlefield as Sengoku talks about how Luffy can encourage the pirates. Sengoku then commands the marines through Den Den Mushi.
Whitebeard is very cautious about Sengoku’s plan and thinks about what they are planning. Marco informs Whitebeard of the current situation regarding Ace and Squard, who is tied up with the vice admirals in the bay. Whitebeard warns Marco not to fall into Sengoku’s trap, as Sengoku is not a man who makes mistakes easily. The 14th Division is attacked by Kizaru, who then sees Luffy nearby and decides to attack him. Ivankov saves Luffy by pushing him away with a death Wink. Buggy and his followers start to panic. When the Impel Down inmates mistake Buggy’s attitude for bravery, Galdino begins berating them. Bartholomew Kuma then attacks Ivankov with his beams. After escaping the rays, Ivankov is surprised “how he can attack him when they have known each other for so long”. Ivankov tells Luffy to let him handle Kuma and Luffy pushes forward.
Fullbody and Jango prepare to attack Luffy, who at first doesn’t remember them until he remembers their humiliation, angering them, and through sheer luck manages to avoid Jango’s hypnosis by looking at a nearby explosion. Both Fullbody and Jango succumb to Jango’s hypnosis and then get kicked off by Hina, who Luffy knows from Alabasta. Hina tries to trap Luffy, but he manages to overpower her with Gear Second. Squard The pirates are having trouble with the vice admirals, and Squard tries to slip into the square to save Ace, but sees a “mysterious figure” before continuing. Luffy fights several powerful marines that he manages to defeat with some difficulty. Gecko Moria praises Luffy’s abilities and plans to take his shadow again, this time for Oars Jr. and send your army of zombies after him. Luffy tries to avoid conflict with Moria, but is soon stopped by the growing number of zombies. Kizaru sends more marines after him, wondering how long Luffy can last.
Ace shows his interest in Luffy and tells him to back off, surprising Boa Hancock and Marco. Ace starts berating Luffy for meddling in other people’s affairs. Luffy replies that they are brothers and that he doesn’t care about the pirate code. The Marines begin to wonder if Luffy could be Gol D. Roger’s next son. Luffy is then attacked by Moria’s zombies, but they are defeated by Jinbe, who uses sea water to defeat them. Jinbe tells Luffy that he will take care of Moria. One of the giants tries to crush Luffy when Sengoku tells everyone about Luffy’s relationship with Ace as an adopted brother and reveals that Luffy is the son of a Dragon, much to everyone’s shock. Smoker is now able to understand why Dragon saved Luffy in Loguetown.
This revelation greatly surprises the people of the Sabaody Archipelago, prompting the marines to kill Luffy. Garp doesn’t mind because Luffy is already a famous pirate. Luffy is able to defeat the giant with Gear Third and yells at Ace that he will save him “even if it means death”, prompting the Whitebeard Pirates to appreciate him for their common goal, and Whitebeard tells Marco that they “can’t let him. die”. Ace looks at Luffy in surprise.
