Summary:
After landing on the Sabaody Archipelago, the Straw Hats begin searching for a man Hatchan knows who can cover their ship so they can proceed to Fish-Man Island. Usopp and Franky stay behind to make repairs on the ship, and Sanji also stays behind to guard the treasure for Nami. Hatchan tells the Straw Hats that World Nobles are also known as Sky Dragons and that they wear masks so they don’t breathe the same air as ordinary people. Furthermore, he tells them that Sabaody is crawling with famous pirates, bounty hunters and slave traders. Luffy notices the wound on Hatchan’s head, to which Hatchan tells him not to mind and to treat Camie and himself as humans. Meanwhile, Luffy, Brook, Chopper, and Hatchan come across an escaped slave who is begging for someone to remove his collar. He tries to take it off himself, but then the collar explodes. The Sky Dragons arrive and Hatchan tells Luffy and the others to kneel down. They start kicking and torturing the slave and Luffy tries not to interfere. Pappag reveals that the World Nobles are descendants of the creators of the World Government and harming them is an act of war.
At Grove 41, Franky and Usopp finished some coke and Sanji also stayed on the Thousand Sunny. He plans to wait for Nami while he guards her treasure. Zoro gets out and heads into town. Zoro shouts that the trees are numbered so they won’t get lost. At first he thinks the grove is number 1, because of the bubble blocking the first digit.
Meanwhile, Hatchan explains that World Nobles are also known as Sky Dragons and wear masks so they don’t breathe the same air as ordinary people. The Sabaody Archipelago is also where everyone gathers before heading to the New World. Infamous pirates are also stationed there and there is no law against trading with pirates. With Navy HQ dangerously close, they must be on their toes. Luffy also notices the injury on Hatchan’s forehead as Camie and Hatchan need to disguise themselves as humans.
Luffy then sticks his head and hands into the bubble and goes inside. The dealer then shows a wheel that can go into the bubble. Luffy then drives the motorbike in the bubble without it breaking. They are called Bubble Bikes. Hatchan just wants to borrow two bikes.
As the group drives by, Hatchan points out that the bubble will burst if one leaves the archipelago’s atmosphere. Camie also says that Bubble Bikes can also be used on Fish-Man Island. Pappag also mentions a mermaid princess and Brook looks forward to meeting her.
Afterwards, Luffy and Chopper visit a large bun shop run by Antonio. The buns are labeled Grandline Half because they are supposed to be souvenirs.
In Grove #35, Hatchan points out that these are the quarters of marines awaiting permission to enter the New World. The purchased goods are placed in bubble wrap. Hatchan says they need to get to Grove #13.
At the mall, Nami begins to sense that something is wrong with Camie.
Luffy’s gang uses their Bubble Bikes in a high-speed race to Grove 13. Meanwhile, a woman runs into a man named Devil Dias, who begs to have his collar removed and wants to go home. He just wants to be reunited with his family when Luffy overhears. Hatchan points out that Devil Dias was sold into slavery, but then the collar ticks and explodes like a bomb. He then breaks down and gives up on going to the New World.
Hatchan then warns of the collars while the Straw Hats are horrified. Just then, the group kneels before Saints Shalria and Rosward as they pass by. He sees how the collar affected the devil Dias and Shalria sees the slave as useless. He then shoots the slave and his body is removed.
Hatchan says he has to leave. Brook offers some tea, but Camie declines. Pappag warns that if anyone takes action against the Sky Dragon, all Marine HQs are in hot pursuit of the target. The Sky Dragons are the descendants of the founders of the World Government. Then a group of bounty hunters spotted Luffy.
