Summary:
Duval reveals that he was once a small-time bandit until Sanji’s wanted poster came to light. Since then, he hid his face with an iron mask until he could get revenge on Sanji. He then uses steel nets to nearly drown Sanji until Camie saves him. Meanwhile, the Flying Fish Riders attempt to crush the Thousand Sunny, but are quickly defeated with the newly installed Gaon Cannon. In his anger, Duval decides to run over Luffy with his bull, but to everyone’s surprise, Luffy easily stops the bull without attacking him, unknowingly using Haki. Sanji then comes ashore and delivers a final flurry of kicks.
With Duval’s face revealed, the Straw Hats are in awe as it looks like Sanji’s wanted poster. Duval blames Sanji for everything that happened to him years ago. He also talks about how the bounty hunters came after him at the command of the marines. When Sanji gets to where Luffy is, the leader of the Flying Fish tells his enemy that he has had to hide his whole life. As he demands his life back, Sanji kicks Duval right in the face. Duval and Sanji then argue over the face on the wanted poster. The rest of the Straw Hats believe that Sanji is lucky, while Franky thinks about being friends with Duval. The cook then yells that Duval should have shaved before hunting him. Duval explains that he and his gang wanted a casual lifestyle. They were just petty bandits making a living.
One of his gang members berated the girl for spilling the ice cream and threatened her father. As their rule continued, the Marines posted a bounty on Sanji, forcing the city to clear out. At first, Duval thought the villagers would fear and respect him, but the marines got to him, thinking the bandit was Black Leg Sanji. Surprised, Duval tried to tell the Marines otherwise. Broke, he was traveling with his gang and badly injured his back. Duval decided to chase Sanji into Hell. Sanji pinches the leader of the Flying Fish for hurting Nami and Robin. Duval then tries to fire his Scorpion Harpoons, but the cook dodges. Duval then orders the creation of a trap. As the flying fish riders approach, Sanji kicks the rider, but is hit by a steel net and pulled underwater.
Luffy tries to save Sanji, but Zoro reminds him of his Devil Fruit abilities, so Hatchan has to rush to the rescue. Duval points out the speed of the flying fish as they can use oxygen tanks to ensure Sanji drowns. Eventually, Sanji passes out. Afterwards, Camie dives into the water after Sanji. Pappag then says that even though flying fish riders and fish men are fast underwater, mermaids are much faster than them. Luffy then wishes the mermaid luck. Then the flying fish riders raise the large anchor to drop it on the Thousand Sunny. Franky heads to the wheel and announces that just as the flying fish riders dropped the anchor, a secret weapon was installed. Once the anchor hits, Franky activates Chicken Voyage and performs evasive maneuvers. Usopp then heads to the bow and finds some controls with a stored weapon. Duval is horrified to see the head of the Sunny hole, revealing a cannon. With the weapon pointed at the cover, a Gaon Cannon is fired that misses the cover.
The Flying Fish Riders are defeated and Duval looks on in horror. Franky then explains how he uses the amount of coke. Just then, the net gets tangled and Camie carries Sanji back to the surface. But Sanji is bleeding from the nose because Camie pressed her face to his chest while rescuing him. Duval, now angry, attacks Luffy with Motobaro, but is blocked. Motobaro shakes with fear and passes out. Robin begins to think that Luffy has won over the beast. Sanji then steps in and claims that Duval is a freak. Angry at how the wanted poster came out, Sanji begins to bombard Duval’s face with a series of kicks. He then completes a Parage Shot and kicks the leader of the Flying Fish into another building. Sanji then concludes that he gave Duval the entire course for free.
