Summary:
Sengoku complains that Kuma is sparing the Straw Hats, but Garp is adamant that they won’t talk about defeating Moria. The Straw Hats reach the red line on the other side of the world from where they entered the Great Line and briefly reflect on how far they’ve come and how far they have to go. Robin, Brook, and Luffy explore using the Shark Submerge III to see how they might get to Fish-Man Island, but are unable to go deep enough to find any clues. The sea rabbit attacks them and after defeating it, spits out Camie the mermaid and her starfish pet Pappag.
In Mary Geoise’s Holy Land, Kuma appears before Sengoku, who demands why he let the Straw Hat Pirates go. Garp accepts his grandson’s tenacity, much to his superior’s anger. The senior admiral says that no one will believe Luffy’s story of how he defeated Moria. Sengoku knows that since Kuma showed the Straw Hats compassion, if they keep following their pose, they will reach the Navy HQ. Garp then presents the tea, which Sengoku refuses.
On the Thousand Sunny, the Straw Hats are getting bored while Luffy, Chopper, Usopp, and Brook hunt while Zoro and the others drink tea. Luffy complains that the group hasn’t arrived at Fish-Man Island yet, while Nami warns that they’re getting close. Sanji thinks about mermaids, but then Usopp spots a school of fish. Nami notices that the fish are trying to swim away from something. Just then, the Thousand Sunny finds itself in the sea serpent’s current. The waters form large columns shocking the crew.
Sanji tries to take an evasive action for the ship, but it gets stuck while a column of sea serpents descends on the ship. Zoro cuts one and moistens it. Franky fires the gun to the left at the sea snake and is also drenched. Luffy fires the Gum-Gum Pistol at another sea snake and gets wet as well, while Brook cuts the sea snake and jokes about how slippery the situation is like a snake. The crew begins to fend off more sea serpents while Nami points out that even if the ship is flying, the sea serpents will simply catch them. Brook prepares to play a song, but a sea serpent repels the boat. Chopper almost falls into the water until Robin catches him.
Moments later, Nami and the crew spot the entrance to the Red Line. Sanji thinks about the storm the Straw Hats had to go through to get to the Grand Line along with the lighthouse. Brook looks back on how it took him 50 years to get on the red line and his former crew. Spotting a more massive sea serpent, Nami advises Sanji to ride the wave. The Thousand Sunny rides alongside the sea snake and Brook activates Coup de Burst and flies out of the Seasnake Current.
They manage to find out how big the red line is, and Luffy talks about the many obstacles the crew had to face. Franky remembers venturing into South Blue via Reverse Mountain, and Robin remembers entering the Grand Line via West Blue. At the end, Luffy hopes to fly the ship around the world to reach the wall one more time.
Nami warns that the crew is dangerously close to Mary Geoise, home of the Navy’s headquarters. Chopper and Usopp swim while Zoro practices while thinking about how he barely survived Kumo’s attack. Nami checks on Robin, Brook and Luffys progress in the water. The skeleton swordsman reports the monster in the water and asks Nami what kind of panties she’s wearing, but she threatens him.
As Luffy, Robin, and Brook use the Shark Submerge III, the water pressure rises over 500 feet. At that moment, a sea rabbit appears from the darkness and tries to eat the submarine. Sanji presents several cakes made from Thriller Bark. Nami begins to worry about how to get to Fish-Man Island just as Shark Submerge III appears. Luffy reveals that he, Brook, and Robin have had no luck finding the island, just as the Sea Rabbit attacks again. Luffy uses the Gum Gum Rifle to punch the sea monster, but then it spits out a mermaid and a starfish. The mermaid lands on Sanji while the starfish talks about how he survived. The mermaid is thrilled to be rescued by the cook, but the starfish insists on going back into the sea rabbit’s mouth.
The mermaid shows shock from landing hard on a human and apologizes to Sanji, who shows her love. Finally, the crew was surprised to see a mermaid on their ship.
