Summary:
Usopp, Nami, and Chopper are effortlessly incapacitated by General Zombie Ryuma, a samurai with an eerie resemblance to Brook, and locked in a coffin. Luffy and the others enter the mansion and easily defeat the Surprise Zombies, but Sanji disappears, forcing Buhichuck to act as their guide by taking him along. As the Thriller Bark zombies celebrate the start of the Night Assault, Absalom wakes up the other general zombies to grab the Straw Hats.
Zombie soldiers march through the forest with a large orb. Meanwhile, in Hogback’s lab, Nami learns the truth about how Hogback was making zombies. He also talks about how Cindry died ten years ago. After being detected, Hogback orders Cindry and Ryuma to kill the group. Ryuma then walks into the lab laughing like Brook, admiring Nami even without his eyes. He almost frowns at Namie’s panties, but is rebuffed. The navigator becomes interested in Brook’s personality, which is replicated by the samurai. Ryuma once came from the Wano Kingdom. A skeletal samurai runs through without incident at first and asks for a sandwich from Cindra. The group almost succeeds, but Ryuma’s power knocks the three down. Ryuma then says that he used Three-Verse Humming: Arrow Notch Slash.
The zombie soldiers continue to march while Luffy checks the grounds of the mansion looking for Moria. He and his party find an empty room filled with seemingly innocuous portraits. At that moment, Buhichuck, the living Bear Rug, and the portrait zombies launch a surprise attack. Luffy begins to smile as Sanji interrogates the portrait monsters. Robin also uses a twist on some portrait zombies and Franky breaks the spear of another using his brute strength. Zoro also uses a Nigiri to cut through some portrait zombies and Luffy leads the Bear Rug zombies on a wild goose chase ending with the Straw Hat using a rubber bazooka to knock the bear to the ground. Buhichuck is shocked to see his allies beaten.
Meanwhile, in Hogback’s lab, Nami, Usopp, and Chopper are trapped in a coffin to be disposed of. The soldiers pass through and eventually reach Moria’s mansion. Buhichuck then tries to excuse that three of Luffy’s crew are sleeping upstairs, but Franky notices that Sanji has disappeared. Zoro begins to fear the worst and Luffy is convinced that their cook will survive. Robin insists on taking the riding pig as a guide as the portrait zombies laugh and insist they go with them. The zombies warn that if they fight Moria, they will be destroyed one by one. Luffy then warns that if any harm comes to his crew, he will beat Moria so hard that he would tear the Thriller Bark to pieces. Taking Buhichuck as a guide and warning the pig, the Surprise Zombies are defeated. The orb the zombie soldiers brought was a disco ball and they sang a massive song to start their Night Raid. Absalom heads to the coffin and wakes the General Zombies out of their coffins and out of the ground. Nami, Usopp and Chopper’s coffin is then transported out of the mansion. Absalom ends his speech to teach the Straw Hat Pirates what fear means.
