Summary:
The giant python causes Luffy, Robin, Chopper and Zoro to split up as they go to the ruins to the south. Gan Fall tells the history of the war between the Shandias and the people of Sky Island. The Shandian warriors charge into battle in the Upper Yard.
The Straw Hats’ survey team moves in to find the gold, and the rest of the crew sets sail. While traveling through the forest, Chopper noticed a tree root moving. He ignored it, thinking the crew would make fun of him if he told them. Just then, Luffy turned around and noticed the same thing as Chopper and commented, gaining the attention of the other two. The root of the tree began to move and what appeared in front of them was a giant python.
The rest of the crew sailing the Milky Way had Gan Fall with them. Gan Fall then told them about the history of the war between Shandia and the people of Sky Island. He went on to tell them about how the Shandia, the original inhabitants of the Upper Court, had been driven from their land and the Sky Islanders owned it for selfish interest. This led to a war between Shandia and the people of Sky Island. Gan Fall explained what had become of Enel’s rule as God. Sanji asked why the crew was attacked by the Shandia when they first arrived, and Gan Fall explained to them that some enforcers captured by the Enel escape through the ship and are eventually defeated by the Shandia. He told them that they might have been falsely identified as fugitive enforcers. Gan Fall further explained to Citizens Sense of Crime that occurs when outsiders visit Skypiea. However, he was confused as to what the gold was and asked the crew traveling with him.
Gan Fall was shown in a flash during one of his attempts to negotiate with Shandia. Wyper, clearly angry, refused to negotiate unless Gan Fall gave them all their land back. Gan Fall stated that he can’t bring everything back, as Vearth was also useful to the people of Sky Island, who he believes are innocent of actions that happened years ago.
Wyper and the rest of the Shandia warriors prepare to battle Wyper, renewing his determination to defeat Enel. He informed the warriors that only those who were ready to leave the wounded behind and continue the fight could join him.
The rest of the Straw Hats in the forest are attacked by a giant python and they are separated in an attempt to escape. The Shandia warriors move to the Upper Yard with the goal of reaching the God’s Sanctuary and eliminating Enel.
