Summary:
The White Berets come to arrest the Straw Pirates for not paying entry, but Luffy and Nami easily defeat them.
The White Berets confront the Straw Hats and tell them to pay an immigration fee. However, the Straw Hats refuse to pay, saying that the fee is too expensive and they cannot afford such a large amount of money. Still worried that Nami hasn’t returned, they ignore the White Berets to discuss how they can get Nami back. Usopp tries to calm the White Berets by telling the crew to calmly wait for Nami’s return, and tells the White Berets’ captain, McKinley, to be patient and that he will pay the fee when Nami returns.
McKinley goes on to link almost everything the Straw Hats do to crime, including owning a wavebreaker, hitting a rare fish (which was about to eat Conis), and Zoro’s act of wanting to fight McKinley due to his constant conversations about them committing a crime. Usopp told McKinley that Zoro only meant it as a joke and not really McKinley. Chopper became angry and stated that all McKinley was doing was trying to frame them by any means necessary. Usopp tried to calm Chopper down and Chopper said that all they do is stand around and do nothing. Usopp got an idea and said that they could do something which is – sleep. When McKinley saw this, he accused them of polluting the environment. Luffy and Zoro became angry and prepared to fight the White Berets; Usopp continued to try to calm them down.
Just then, Nami came back yelling at Luffy not to upset anyone after noticing that Skypiea authorities had made contact with the Straw Hats. Hearing the high amount of money Usopp told her about the immigration fee, Nami hit McKinley with her Waver in anger and told them to run. Usopp asked what crime Nami had committed and was told that it was a class 5 felony that could be cloud abducted.
Nami tells the rest of the crew what she saw earlier and tells them they need to leave immediately. The rest of the crew agreed. However, Luffy was displeased and refused to leave. Despite Nami trying to convince him, Luffy remained adamant that he would not leave. Conis then appeared and told them to hurry, but McKinley told her that if she continued to help the Straw Hats, she and her father would be punished as well. The White Berets then launched an attack on Luffy, but he easily defeated them. McKinley laughed and told the Straw Hats that there was no escape. They are now class 2 felons and will be judged by the priests of the Upper Court.
