Summary:
The Straw Hat Pirates decide to go to Jaya to find information about Skypiea. Meanwhile, Ace hitches a ride with Buggy, who demonstrates his own objection to any confrontation with Whitebeard.
A turtle-like sea king emerges near Nami and the crew. The Masira Pirates are also terrified and yell at their captain who is confronted by Luffy underwater. Robin discovers that the crew’s diving suit air hoses were in the monster’s mouth and deduces that Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro were eaten by the monster. The monster drags the Going Merry with air hoses and tries to pull it underwater, and Nami was about to cut the hoses to free the ship, but the sky suddenly turns to night.
The pirates of Masir fear that the sudden change in time of day was a bad omen and that they should get their captain at once. Luffy emerges unconscious and Zoro and Sanji emerge soon after. They all propose to set sail and leave immediately, but Masira jumps on their ship and prevents them from leaving. However, one of the Masira Pirates points out that, to the horror of the Straw Hat Pirates, the sudden night was caused by gigantic creatures blocking the sun. The Straw Hat Pirates are on the run.
Later, Masira is briefly seen on the Going Merry before being kicked off by straw pirates. Nami is disappointed that Luffy, Zoro and Sanji found no trace of Skypiea during the rescue. Sanji points out that the ship looked like it had been attacked or destroyed by battle. Then Robin reveals that she took an eternal pose from the Masira Pirates for an island called Jaya. So Luffy orders his crew to turn the ship to Jaya to ask the others on Skypiea. However, they soon realize that they can’t stay in Jaya for too long or the Log Pose will adapt and point elsewhere and they will lose their chance of finding Sky Island.
Meanwhile, Mohji and Cabaji are on the skull-like island. They are looking for Captain John’s treasure. However, they fail to find any treasure. Back on the ship, Buggy reveals a plan that involves waiting for Luffy to gain reputation on the Grand Line so Buggy can gain a better reputation by defeating him.
Portgas D. Ace appears on Buggy’s ship and intimidates Cabaji. Ace suddenly falls asleep and Mohji suggests taking Ace out while he sleeps, but Buggy refuses to hurt Ace for fear of what Ace’s boss, Whitebeard, would do in retaliation. Ace soon wakes up and starts a party on Buggy’s ship. Meanwhile, the straw pirates continue their journey towards Jaya.
