One Piece Episode 135

Summary:

The episode opens on an island where a very exhausted Zoro is wandering around.

A group of pirates are seen laughing at a bar called W Brothers. At the head of the table is a bandit named Billy, who declares that he will “drink this bar dry” with the other pirates interrogating him. Yosaku notices Billy and discovers his reward of 5,000,000 Beli. Johnny is shown to be very reluctant and tells Yosaku, who tries to contradict Johnny by saying that they can’t take the little guys forever. However, Johnny is still persistent and doesn’t want to risk immediate death.

At that moment Zoro walks into the pub very exhausted and sits down wanting food. The owner tells Zoro because he has no money to pay. However, Zoro says he will pay once he “collects the reward from the guy sitting behind me.” Billy, very angry to hear this, gets up and attacks Zoro. Zoro quickly opens his katana and counters with his sword. Zoro, very hungry, asks about Billy’s reward and Billy confirms Beli5,000,000 on his head. With the information provided, Zoro quickly ends him in a chest. Now he has the money he needs to eat.

Very frightened by the ordeal, Johnny and Yosaku question if the stranger is the “Infamous Pirate Hunter”, describing him as a 3-sword demon who took human form. They quickly brushed off the rumors and approached Zoro, asking him to follow the rules of the bounty hunter and hand over Billy’s dead body since they saw him first. Zoro ignores him, making Johnny angry.

Zoro then stops and asks them if they have heard of Hawk Eyes Mihawk. They answer in the affirmative and Zoro explains to them that he is looking for Mihawk so he can defeat him and become the “Greatest Swordsman” in the world. He then clarifies that he only claims bounties to eat, therefore he is no “bounty hunter”. Yosaku taunts Zoro, calling his goal an impossible task. Zoro ignores these comments and says that he has already made up his mind because it was his “childhood dream” and no one can ever change his mind. This comment leaves Johnny shocked. Zoro gets up and apologizes for intruding on “taking their reward” and lets them take it. Of course, if she pays the bill for his meal.

After handing in the bounty, Yosaku is seen to be very happy as now they will stop bounty hunting for a while and will be able to eat better. Johnny, still remembering his conversation with the stranger, asks Yosaku, “Why did he become a bounty hunter.” Yosaku confusedly replies, “To eat.” But Johnny explains to him that he became a bounty hunter because he wanted to be like the brave hunters who protected his poor village from the pirates who attacked it. The conversation with the stranger made him remember his own childhood dream. Yosaku laughs at this and says it’s not like him.

Suddenly, the villagers in the town run away in fear, closing their windows and running away. One of the villagers told him that the infamous Dick Bandits were attacking a warehouse on the outskirts of town. Yosaku goes through the papers and discovers that he has a reward of 10,000,000 Beli.

On the outskirts of town, Dick breaks into warehouses with his massive gun and his gang of bandits loot the goods. Johnny and Yosaku arrive at the scene with all the terrified villagers. All the villagers are too afraid to recover the stolen goods because they fear their death. As the Bandits empty the warehouse, Dick becomes very arrogant and declares that only idiots try to defy his powerful self. Suddenly he gets hit with a hammer. A boy named Harry tries to attack Dick, but to no avail. However, the boy does not give up. This reminds Johnny of his childhood and convinces Yosaku to go on the attack. He attacks Dick, now face to face.

Dick shows no fear to the duo. He claims they are not worth his time and would rather pay them to call. Johnny states that he would rather fight for justice. That makes the Bandits laugh. Johnny begs Yosaku to fight him. With a sense of bravery, Yosaku agrees to the offer. Yosaku then brags about how they gave Bela’s bounty to 5,000,000 marines. This causes Dick to stop laughing and become angry at them as it is revealed that Billy was Dick’s younger brother.

Meanwhile, as the fight begins in the distance, we pan to Zoro walking up the stairs to the swordsman. He approaches the sweaty man and asks if his Meitou has been repaired. He compliments the swordsman on his impressive workmanship. The swordsman adds that it wasn’t too easy because Zoro treats his katanas too hard and the other two katanas he used turned out to be broken. He then flashes back to the time he challenged and fought Kuina. Zoro offers to repay the swordsman, but is refused, as such a beautiful sword does not come along every day. Zoro hands back the longsword he used before killing Billy, but the sword shatters right in front of the swordsman. He taunts that Zoro would break any katana he touched. Zoro regretfully promises to make it up to him somehow. As this happens, a huge gunshot is heard. Zoro is informed that Dick the Bandit Mountain Whale has arrived and has a bounty of 10,000,000 Beli on him. Zoro then shows relief as he can repay the swordsmen.

Harry, a small boy, watches in horror as the duo try to fight Dick to no avail as he keeps knocking them down before they can get to him. Still, they get up and lunge at him determinedly. Dick asks how they could take his little brother. They replied that they only released him. The two bounty hunters return once more as they were marked as weak before being knocked to the ground as very weak and worn out. Harry gets angry and attacks only to get hit. Dick’s crew reports that they loaded everything onto the cart. Dick, now impatient, declares that he has had enough of such “weak punks”. Johnny and Yosaku stand up as Johnny states that he would risk his life to stop the bandits from getting away. This will leave an impact on Harry. Dick, running out of patience, asks his crew to finish them off. Harry is knocked away by one of the bandits landing at Zoro’s feet. The bandits then beat up Johnny and Yosaka. Harry gets up but is stopped by Zoro. He tells Harry to think about what he can do before he attacks.

When Johnny and Yosaku are badly injured and knocked to the ground, Dick tells them that they were unlucky and he didn’t make anything out of this fight. One of the bandits raises his sword and charges to kill them, but is interrupted by Zoro’s blade. Johnny and Yosaku recognize Zoro and he asks if it’s okay to take their bounty again when he needs money and they approve. Zoro then ties a scarf around his head as Dick slowly recognizes him. The two also recognize the white-sheathed katana (Wado Ichimonji). Zoro asks Johnny and Yosaku if he can borrow their katanas. They slowly agree and realize Zoro’s identity. Dick doubts that Zoro could destroy his men even with three swords. Zoro points out that there is a difference between “using the three swords” and “practicing the three sword style”. When the bandits pounce on Zoro, he quickly defeats them all at once. Zoro looks back at the bodies, but Dick attacks him from behind and pulls the trigger.

When the bang happens, we finally come back to the present where the big mountain is blown to pieces and Usopp is shooting next to everyone on board. Zoro regains his senses and sneezes. As he sneezes, Robin comes in with a jacket. Suspicious of her, Zoro tightly grips his Wado Ichimonji and guards him. He reminds Robin that he can’t stand next to him. He’s trying to say he’s going to catch a cold. Zoro refuses to say that people who catch colds have weak hearts. Robin then reminds him of Pirate Hunter Zoro’s name. He then tells her that he never called himself that. Robin asks who gave him that name. He replies that he doesn’t know and it has nothing to do with him. As Robin returns to reading Rainbow Mist, another cannon fire is heard.

We then flash back to when Dick fired at Zoro with Harry flying in with a bucket of water and canceling the shot. Zoro takes the opportunity to slash Dick. Zoro examines the borrowed katanas and is relieved that they are not broken. He thanks Harry for helping him. After the commotion, both Johnny and Yosaku are in awe of Zoro and ask him to join forces with them. Zoro shrugs and tells them why not. Johnny and Yosaku celebrate.
