One Piece Episode 122

Summary:

Luffy fights the Crocodile with more success this time using water, but still loses the round. Meanwhile, the other straw pirates rush to find the bomb before it explodes. Nico Robin forces King Cobra to take her to the tomb where the Plutonic Poneglyph is hidden.

As Crocodile lies on the ground, Luffy demands that he get up and fight. The crocodile laughs at this claim.

Meanwhile, Vivi and the rest of the Straw Hats are in Palace Square. Vivi explains that according to the Crocodile, he will fire a huge cannon within ten minutes, and once the cannon is fired, no one within a five kilometer radius will survive, wiping out both the Rebel and Royal forces. Zoro tells them they have to find the cannon and stop the gunners from firing. Before they can go ahead and search for the cannon, they find Vivi’s several billion Baroque Cannons and attempt to bring her to the Crocodile for promotion. Sanji and Zoro volunteer to stay behind and deal with the agents while the others continue on and split up to search for the cannon.

Crocodile still laughs at Luffy’s statement and tells him that it won’t be that easy to defeat him since he is one of the seven warriors of the sea. Luffy is not impressed and says that if Crocodile is one of the seven warriors then he is the eighth warrior. Cobra can’t believe what she’s hearing and is impressed by Luffy’s confidence. He asks who Luffy is and Miss All Sunday tells him that he is the one responsible for bringing Vivi back to Arabasta.

Even though Luffy figured out how to punch the crocodile, the Warlord is still confident and claims that even though Luffy can hit him, he can still absorb any liquid in Luffy’s body. He proceeds to dehydrate Luffy’s arm, which Luffy counters by drinking more water. The two continue to fight and Luffy reveals that he had planned to throw the water barrel he was carrying to douse the crocodile with water. Crocodile anticipates this move and counters it by conjuring sand, sending both Luffy and the barrel flying away. Luffy barely grabs the barrel of water. Crocodile laughs at Luffy and tells him that this battle is no different than the first time they fought. Luffy drinks the entire barrel of water he was carrying and nicknames himself Water Luffy, showing a bloated belly full of water, which shocks both Crocodile and Cobra and amuses Miss all Sunday.

Cobra attacks Luffy, but Luffy squirts water from his mouth and douses the Crocodile with water, just as he planned, leaving the Warlord vulnerable to Luffy’s physical attacks. Luffy uses his Gomu Gomu no Bazooka technique and hits the Crocodile right in his stomach, causing him to fall. The crocodile lies on the ground and does not move. Miss All Sunday removes the stakes impaling Cobra and demands that he show her the way to the Poneglyph. Cobra asks what he wants with it, but he subdues him and repeats his demand.

Crocodile gets up and calls Miss All Sunday by her real name, Nico Robin, and tells her that she should go to the Poneglyphs now. As Nico Robin and the King leave, Crocodile uses his Ground Secco technique to dehydrate their entire surroundings, turning it into a desert wasteland. Luffy shoots water at the Crocodile, which he simply absorbs with his hand. He continues to drain the moisture from the ground, the effects of which are felt throughout the palace.

With eight minutes left until the explosion, Vivi, Pell, and the rest of the Straw Hats are scrambling to find the cannon.

Meanwhile, Cobra questions if Nico Robin is really Miss All Sunday’s name. He remembers that twenty years ago the whole world knew that name. On their way to the Poneglyphs, they meet Tashigi and a bunch of marines. Tashigi refuses to let them through, but Robin uses her powers to incapacitate some of her men. When the Marine sees this ability, he recognizes who she is and tells Tashigi that twenty years ago, when she was eight years old, Robin earned a bounty of 79,000,000 Beli for sinking six naval ships, which classified her as a level one risk. After the incident, she allegedly disappeared and was never heard from again. After hearing of her reputation, Tashigi orders her men to go to the Palace Square to stop the explosion as she deems it unnecessary for so many men to fight against someone with her strength. Staying behind, he decides to fight her, but Robin uses her powers against Tashigi and easily defeats her.

In the palace, the entire lawn turned into sand. Crocodile is able to sneak up on Luffy and grab him by the neck. Luffy spits water at the Crocodile, but it misses and he proceeds to absorb all the water in Luffy’s body, dehydrating him. Luffy’s signature straw hat is shown blown away by the wind. While still holding Luffy by the throat, Crocodile declares that Luffy has lost to him for the second time.
