 Summary:

Luffy manages to successfully counter Arlong’s attacks and punches the fishman, but Arlong only goes into a berserk state and attacks with his Kiribachi sword. Luffy and Arlong’s fight takes them to the cartography room in the main building, and Luffy becomes enraged when Arlong talks about using Nami for his personal gain.
Luffy urges Arlong to get out of the pool despite the beating the fish man gave him, and Arlong laughs at Luffy’s tenacity, wondering if Luffy has realized the futility of running. Usopp yells at Luffy to take cover, saying that he will die if Arlong hits him directly. However, Luffy creates a shield by extending the fingers of his left hand horizontally, and Johnny and Yosaku wonder what Luffy means. Arlong goes twice as fast as last time as he swims towards Luffy and tries to pierce his heart, and when he hits him directly, he sends Luffy flying, much to the horror of Johnny and Yosaku. However, Luffy barely manages to stop Arlong’s nose from hitting him with his finger shield to block the fish man’s face and bounces off Arlong into the wall of the main building. Luffy tells Arlong that the attack won’t work on him anymore, however Arlong surprises Luffy by jumping out of the collision (though Luffy just says he was lucky) and jumps onto the Straw Hat in the air again. Luffy reacts by extending his fingers to create a web that catches Arlong, and Luffy then stomps Arlong in the chest, sending him to the ground below.
The onlookers rejoice and Luffy wonders if Arlong is dead, but Arlong’s eyes quickly open again, now looking intense and wild. Genzo and Nojiko are unnerved by the sight, and even Nami says she’s never seen his eyes before. Sanji remarks that they are the same eyes that the Sea King has when he rages, and that Luffy’s attack just enraged him. Arlong grabs Luffy’s head and slams him into the base of the building before lunging at him. Luffy barely manages to jump over Arlong’s punch, but when Arlong breaks through the wall of the building, he grabs a giant Zanbato named Kiribachi and pulls him out. Arlong swings a Kiribachi at Luffy and Luffy dodges, but the sword embeds itself in the building, allowing Arlong to flip over and chase Luffy around the main building. Arlong manages to corner Luffy on the upper floor and Luffy jumps into the window as the fisherman attacks.
Arlong walks into the room and Luffy wonders what all the papers are around him. Arlong replies that these are the maps that Nami has spent the last eight years drawing and praises Nami’s skill, but Luffy notes that the pen on Nami’s desk is covered in blood. Arlong holds Luffy’s head between two Kiribachi blades as he says that there is no better luck for Nami than creating maps for the fishmen to use to conquer the world, and asks Luffy if he couldn’t use her more effectively. In response, Luffy grabs one of Kiribachi’s blades, rendering Arlong unable to move the sword. Luffy shattered the tooth-like blade with his bare hand and became angry that Arlong was using Nami as a tool.
