At Galley-La HQ, Corgi is seen walking away talking about how they still aren’t sure if Iceburg has “it” or not. Iceburg admits that they are after something of his and keep offering it to him, but he always refuses. In the background, Nico Robin’s reward on the wall of his room.
Back on the Going Merry, Chopper announces that Usopp has finally woken up and the entire crew has gone to check on him. Usopp apologizes to them for losing their money and asks if they can still fix the ship for only 100,000,000 Beli. However, Luffy tells him that they decided to buy another ship and shows him the catalogs. Confused by this, Usopp believes that he is joking and that they can’t afford the repairs since he lost the money.
The two become angry at each other while ignoring warnings from Zoro and Chopper, but Luffy finally admits that Going Merry will die. Usopp, refusing to believe it, thinks there is more to it. However, Luffy denies it and tries to explain, but Usopp continues to not believe it. He says that Going Merry is a friend and they would still let him die. Usopp tries to get them to let him be a carpenter, but Luffy admits it’s impossible.
When the two get into a heated argument, the others try to stop them, but they are simply ignored and continue to watch in pain. Finally, Luffy snaps and pins Usopp to the floor, all but telling him that if he’s not happy, he should leave. Angered, Sanji kicks Luffy and tells him not to say things he didn’t mean or he won’t be able to take them back. However, Luffy tries to apologize, Usopp says that if they leave Going Merry behind, they leave him behind too.
Usopp admits that he knew he could never catch up to them and that he never intended to go as far as they did; he only went since he was invited. He says that those with different dreams should go their separate ways and leaves the Going Merry saying that he is quitting. The others try to stop him, but he keeps going. He then declares that since the ship belongs to the captain, he will take it from them and demands to fight Luffy.
