Summary:
In Mary Geoise, the Five Elders talk about Luffy’s actions. They thought about Luffy’s connection with Rayleigh and regretted turning Jinbe into a Shichibukai. It is also said that Blackbeard has knocked out one of the supernovas and that only Yonko and the remnants of the Whitebeard Pirates are able to stop his progress. They discuss replacing the three lost Shichibukai (Jinbe, Teach, and Moria). At the same location, World Government Commander-in-Chief Kong talks to Sengoku about him and Garp being “held back” in the Marines. Now a former Fleet Admiral, Sengoku recommends Admiral Aokiji as his successor.
At Marineford, which is being rebuilt, Aokiji and Smoker talk first about Luffy’s actions and later about Smoker’s possible new job at the New World G-5 naval base, which is said to be full of problems. The Commodore’s wish to be transported there stems from his will to pursue Luffy. At the medical center, the doctor informs Koby that what he heard during the battle was definitely Haki. It is finally revealed what Luffy did to Brannew: he came with Jinbe and Rayleigh to Marineford. The trio stole a naval ship and circled Marineford. Luffy enters the square alone to ring the Ox Bell 16 times, with many photographers taking pictures of him and putting them in their papers, including one that reveals Luffy has a new tattoo similar to Ace’s. Brannew interprets these actions as a declaration of war.
In the New World on an unnamed island, Kid and his crew talk about Luffy’s behavior. Killer tells the others about the symbolic meaning it has for the Marines, he rang the bell 8 times to end the previous year and another 8 times to start the next year. Kid then wonders if Luffy is saying that he will make the new era himself. Outside their camp, there are many captured and defeated men who are then killed and crucified by Kid using his Devil Fruit power. Supernova laughed at their low power and their desire to return home after their complete defeat.
Elsewhere, also in the New World, Capone Bege’s ship is pulled into the sky by a strange, dark globe-like structure with what appear to be rocky formations protruding from it.
Back in the Grand Line, Luffy is traveling on the Kuja ship with Jinbe and Rayleigh, hoping his colleagues understood the message he sent them by ringing the Ox Bell. On the various islands they were sent to, everyone (except Zoro) apparently understood what he wanted them to know.
Meanwhile, at the Foodvalten, Hawkins and his crew confront Brownbeard and his men. Supernova carelessly angers Brownbeard and asks what his name is. Hawkins ignores Brownbeard’s mutterings about his fame. He draws his sword from its scabbard and prepares to fight.
The final display of the supernova is Urouge with his crew, who for the first time don’t have his signature smile and can’t dock their ship on an island in the New World due to the constant lightning that emanates from it. A smaller vessel approaches them with an old woman offering them some umbrellas.
