Summary:
Tashigi falls to the ground after being cut and the marines ask if she is okay. Tashigi considers not dying from a blow to be the worst shame. Tashigi tells Law to kill her the next time he cuts her. Law questions if doing something so menial makes a good swordsman. He then tells her to remember that the weak cannot choose how they die. Tashigi swung at him but missed due to her sword slashing. Law draws his sword and says he can cut Tashigi more if he wants to. In response, the Marines shoot at Law. Law uses his power to send the bullets back at them, saying that he mistook them for a pile of snow where they were standing. Law prepares to attack Tashigi. She raises the point that is her sword to try to defend herself, but Smoker steps in and blocks Law’s sword with his jerk. Smoker then uses his ability to get behind Law while still blocking his sword. He grabs Law by the neck and slams him into the snow, pinning him. Smoker is about to ram his jitte into Law’s skull. Smoker smashes his jitte into a piece of wood from one of the shipwrecks, which Law has mistaken for his own body. Law reappears behind Smoker and slashes at him with his sword. The smoker catches it with his jit. The backlash from Smoker’s block causes Law to cut off part of the landscape. One of the ships that was attached to the mountain begins to fall. The soldiers decide to make a run for her as she is just getting in the way, they grab Tashigi’s two halves and take her with them.
The scene changes to Luffy’s group being in the frozen lands. Luffy tells the group that he just heard something and wonders if it was from Sanji’s group. He then asks Brownbeard, on whose shoulders he rides, if he really doesn’t know where the rest of his crew is. Brownbeard tells Luffy that he won’t say anything. Luffy tells him to run faster. Riding on Brownbeard’s back with the rest of the party, Zoro comments that the guy they’re riding has no sense of self-reflection. Usopp asks Brook why he’s wearing a coat and Brook tells him that feeling matters. Robin says that it would be nice if Nami and the others didn’t have their hands fall off from frostbite.
The scene changes to the inside of PH-006, where the Master is drinking while the guard tells him about Smoker and Law’s fight. The Master asks what Law is thinking since the plan was to banish them. The guard also tells him that the Straw Hats, who were being held captive, escaped with the kids from the cookie room and met the marines at the front door, implying that the marines saw the kids, causing the Master to spit out his drink. Then he breaks the glass in anger. If Smoker is killed here, then the higher ups at Marineford will be suspicious of the island. A harpy named Monet arrives and the Master asks her where she has been. He tells him that the dragon that belonged to Vegapunk as well as Brownbeard’s centaur unit have been defeated. He further explains that the pirates pulled from the ship had friends who were on the burning side of the island, that they had crossed over to the cold side of the island and would soon be at the base. Monet mentions that she thought they were strong, but then realized they were Straw Hat Pirates and showed the Master a newspaper article about them. This surprises the master.
The scene changes back to Law and Smoker fighting. The soldiers watch the fight in disbelief as they regroup, having already put Tashigi back together. The soldiers then realize the dire situation they are in. They have no ships or means of communication. Tashigi slowly stands up, despite the soldiers’ protests that she shouldn’t move yet. She remembers and repeats something Smoker told her a long time ago about how pirates never change. Smoker flies through the debris in the form of smoke and attacks Law. He tells Law that he never trusted the Seven Sea Warriors. Law tells him it was a wise choice to bring a piece of the mountain down on him. Smoker asks Law what good he is to the island and who is really running it. Smoker charges Law with a kick, which he blocks with his sword. He then reappears behind Law and throws his jitte at him. Law manages to get his sword at the last second and block it. Law then asks Smoker what the Marines are up to. A stone then falls between them. Smoker breaks off the top of the rock with his jitte and Law ducks so he doesn’t get hit, and says they’ll have to change places. He then uses a technique called Mes and actually pierces the rock to reach Smoker, leaving a square hole in the marine’s chest while something comes out of his back. The smoker then realizes that Law has just removed his heart. Law teleports Smoker’s heart above his hand and grabs the heart he’s holding in some kind of cube, and Smoker collapses. Law leaves and says he doesn’t have to say anything to Smoker. He then hears a call because he saw a warship. The voice then notices Law standing nearby and Law recognizes Luffy’s voice and sees him. Luffy then recognizes Law.
