Summary:
Surprised by the sudden appearance of Robin, Franky and Luffy, Caesar Clown’s underlings try to organize a counterattack. As Franky blows away a group of them with his Strong Right, Robin and Luffy discuss where to find Caesar since it would be unlikely that he would be out. Tashigi (in Smoker’s body) approaches Luffy and demands to know what he is up to on the island, while the latter (unaware of the body swap) expresses relief that ‘Smoker’ is okay. Frustrated at being ignored, Tashigi attacks Luffy and eventually manages to perform a sentient transformation using Smoker’s Logia ability. However, Luffy is easily able to avoid her and subdue her, asking how ‘Smoker’ became so weak after the time skip.
Seeing this, Smoker (in Tashigi’s body) quickly moved to strike Luffy and hit him with a flurry of attacks using his jitte on the sea stone spike. Confused, Luffy doesn’t understand how ‘Smoker’ became so weak while his representative (whose name Luffy forgot) became so powerful. He claims to be a real smoker, and the marine lunges at Luffy again, who narrowly dodges a punch, taken aback by the claim. Robin then steps in and explains the possibility of Law having something to do with the change, which helps Luffy understand, who starts laughing after realizing the situation.
Unfazed by the pirate captain’s attitude, Smoker attacks in rage, which Luffy manages to dodge again, entering Gear 2 and quickly moving in front of Smoker, claiming to delay their fight until the marine is in his original body and at full strength. . Suddenly, everyone is surprised after a large explosion goes off, revealing that Franky has already made it to the front entrance and blasts the door open with his Franky Radical Beam. Calling on the others to follow him inside, they are then interrupted when a strange drop-like substance starts raining from the sky.
Landing on a ship seized by G-5 Marines, it quickly proves to be hostile and very dangerous. The Marines, who begin to emit poison gas after the attack, quickly equip themselves with gas masks and attempt to remove the threat from their ship. As the spots begin to coalesce and grow, one man tries to push them away, but suffers acid burns. Another Marine says it looks weak to fire, pulls out a flamethrower and starts burning an unknown mass that initially starts to move away. Just when they think they’ve been successful, their victory is short-lived as the boat and the surrounding water is engulfed in a huge explosion that distracts everyone on shore as the boat shatters into shards.
Smoker and Tashigi can only watch as their men are decimated while Caesar’s subordinates laugh it off and claim that the threat is finally over. Contrary to their belief, more poison orbs start raining down from the sky, and Caesar Clown himself is revealed to be watching the catastrophe unfold. Claiming that the monster doesn’t like water, the orbs he sees now are actually parts of a much larger body isolated on the fiery side of Punk Hazard, which launches itself across the lake one piece at a time (Sanji (in Nami’s body), Zoro and Brook meanwhile watch process).
Once his monster finally arrives, Caesara curses everyone present and is interrupted mid-sentence by Luffy, whose single-mindedness forces him to focus only on catching the man.
