Summary:
Sabo’s attack destroys the stage and causes a shock wave and panic among the audience. Rebecca is seen holding on to Bartolomeo when Diamante casually mentions that they never planned to give Mera Mera no Mi away. Sabo opens the Devil Fruit chest as a shocked Gatz looks on, revealing that he is the last one standing. Gatz announces to the fleeing crowd that Lucy is the winner of the Corrida Colosseum despite the chaos that ensues. After taking a bite of the Mera Mera no Mi, Sabo comments on how gross it tastes. He saves Rebecca but leaves Bartolomeo behind because he can defend himself by removing his beard and helmet. Still unaccustomed to his new Devil Fruit power and terrified by the flames he just produced, Sabo destroys the remains of the stage with a powerful punch. The attack is so powerful that it destroys the ground between the underground port and the Coliseum. Koala jumps into the hole behind him.
At the underground port, Trebol is enraged and attacks Nico Robin and the dwarves who are trying to get Usopp out of harm’s way. The manager tries to attack Robin with her devil fruit ability, but she summons several large hands to lift a large piece of rock and block it. Right after that, Hajrudin appears out of nowhere. The giant picked Usopp up and praised his brave actions that removed the curses of the Hobi Hobi no Mi. He then showed the badly wounded Usopp to the freed warriors of the Coliseum. The destroyed ceiling sends beams of light down onto Usopp, and the warriors take this as a sign. Usopp tries to convince the giant to sit him down, but the others mishear it as “I’ll lead you” and encourage him, asking what they should do. Usopp tells them to destroy the factory behind him and save the dwarves.
After falling from the coliseum, Jesus Burgess is upset that Sabo ate the fruit meant for his crew, and Diamante worries about losing the fruit. As the two grumble, they are confronted by the freed toys from the basement, full of hatred for the Donquixote pirates.
Some distance away, but still in the harbor, Bartolomeo is upset that Sabo didn’t save him, even though he could have easily saved himself. Sabo disguised himself and introduced himself, Koala and Hack as members of the revolutionary army. He also revealed Lucy’s identity to Luffy to Rebecca and told her that the pirate was his younger brother. Sabo then explains that Dressrosa is supporting wars all over the world and he came to Dressrosa to stop it.
At the palace, Kyros easily defeats Doflamingo’s soldiers, including Buffalo. Luffy and Viola rush to save Law, but Law warns him that their alliance is over and that they are now enemies, and if Luffy lets him go, he can kill Luffy. Gladius rushes in but sees that Doflamingo has been decapitated and is horrified. Kyros removes Riku’s chains while Luffy tries to untie Law despite his warnings. A sudden shockwave knocks them to the floor as Pica emerges next to Doflamingo, holding the Shichibukai’s head in her hand. Doflamingo, still alive, warns that the situation is now serious and that he will have to implement a plan called the ‘Birdcage’, much to Law’s shock.
