Summary:
Sabo’s kick causes Jesus Burgess to hit the ground and Gatz and the other citizens recognize him as the Chief of Staff of the Revolutionary Army. Sabo tells Burgess that Luffy is his brother and asks the Blackbeard Pirate what his problem is with Luffy. This confuses Burgess, who also heard Ace claim to be Luffy’s brother, and Sabo reveals that the three are brothers. Sabo recalls the Duel on Banaro Island and says that while he won’t hold Burgess and his crew responsible for Ace’s death, Burgess should know that he will protect Luffy. Burgess angrily lashes out at Sabo, not caring about the two’s relationship, but Sabo then lights his finger on fire and Burgess and Gatz realize that it was Lucy who ate the Mera Mera no Mi at the Corrida Colosseum. Sabo then talks to Luffy and tells him that he will be busy with Burgess while Doflamingo is still at large. Luffy tells him not to worry as he knows Gatz and the gladiators can buy him enough time and expresses relief that Sabo ate Ace’s devil fruit. Burgess then lunges at Sabo while Gatz carries Luffy away and punches Sabo, causing a shockwave to destroy the building in front of him. However, Sabo transforms into flames and appears at Burgess’s side, attacking him with the Dragon King Fire Flame. The force of the attack knocks Burgess through several buildings and Sabo jumps after him.
Gatz continues to run and carries Luffy, and Luffy, after Gatz’s prompting, reveals that Sabo took his place during the Colosseum finale. Gatz states that it was against the rules, but is more interested in Luffy recovering so he can defeat Doflamingo. Gatz suddenly looks behind him to see several buildings uprooted and several gladiators running away as Doflamingo slaughters many of them using his awakened Devil Fruit abilities. The gladiators continue to press, but an enraged Doflamingo says he doesn’t have time to deal with them, yelling for Luffy to show up so he can spare the Straw Hat.
The citizens of Dressrosa continue to flee the Birdcage and head towards the central street, but are shocked to realize that the central street has become a battlefield as they look on in awe at Doflamingo’s carnage.
Meanwhile, Zoro dresses his swords in Busoshoku Haki and confronts Birdcage. Shocked, Kin’emon and Kanjuro berated Zoro for his recklessness, saying that the Birdcage cannot be stopped by pushing on it. However, Zoro asks them how they know and tells them to help him stop it since he couldn’t succeed on his own. Outside the SMILE factory, Franky tells the dwarves to push the factory. Since the factory is indestructible, Franky knows that the dwarves pressing on it could stop the Birdcage. Meanwhile, Robin and Viola contact each other about Zoro’s plan.
The New King’s Plateau has several Don Quixote pirates standing on it, keeping the citizens away from the plateau, which is the only place they can go. He shoots the citizens and claims that Doflamingo’s plan is for all the citizens to die. Suddenly, all of the Donquijote Pirates are defeated by the Coliseum Gladiators who were helping Luffy, all of whom are now awake as Mansherry heals them. Kyros tells all the citizens to climb the platform while Sai tells the other gladiators to come with him if they have the will to fight.
Doflamingo eventually loses patience with Luffy and accelerates the Birdcage, causing Riku and the citizens to scream in anguish. As Zoro and Franky try to stop the Birdcage and the gladiators prepare to join in, it is revealed that everyone in the central street will be massacred in three minutes. However, Luffy still needs four minutes to restore his Haki.
