Summary:
The Straw Hats, Vivi and Ace are still traveling together on their way to Yuba Oasis. Vivi intends to meet the rebel army there. Thirsty and tired, Luffy and Usopp began fighting with everyone to drink water from the bottle. Sanji decides to save his for Nami and Vivi, but Luffy tries to take his water bottle from him. Just then, Luffy, Usopp, and Sanji start arguing over the water in the bottle. Nami asks Vivi to tell her more about the rebel army and Vivi goes to tell her about the events that happened 11 years ago.
A young Goat is seen in front of King Cobra complaining that his village is drying up and the king is doing nothing to help him. The king told him in return that the weather was commanded by God and that he had no power over nature. Just then, Toto arrived, begging the king to accept the punishment for his rude son. Cobra promised to take care of the drought-stricken village and told Toto to stay in Alubarna. The goat, still angry with the king, said that the king did not understand people’s feelings and fled from his sight. Cobra then told Toto that Goat is a good kid because he cares about people and their feelings. Standing by the hallway, Vivi saw the Goat running down crying and called him a crybaby. Igaram is seen telling Cobra that the country’s budget won’t be enough to help the entire levy-hit village, and Cobra comically slapping him on the head tells him to take the money out of their personal wallets.
At that moment, Vivi appeared before her father and told him that she had a fight but lost. Igaram was angry that Koza hit the princess and Toto begged the king to commit suicide as a way of apologizing. Cobra tells them to stay out of it because it’s just childish arguing. In the village, Vivi challenged Kozu for the position of leader of the Suna Suna clan. After their fight, Koza announced Vivi as the new assistant leader of the Suna-Suna clan. Igaram and Cobra watched in the hideout, and Cobra noted that Vivi had made friends, which is important for the next ruler. Vivi became close to Koz’s family after joining the clan. Vivi was about to be kidnapped when the Suna Suna clan launched an attack against the kidnappers to protect Vivi. Meanwhile, in the desert, a scorpion came out of the ground and was about to attack Luffy, so Zoro, Sanji, Chopper, and Luffy all defeated the scorpion together.
The Suna Suna Clan continued to fight the kidnappers when a third appeared to grab Vivi. Vivi bit him and ran towards the ruins. Igaram and Cobra appeared after the children were defeated and asked what happened. They told them and went to see Vivi. The kidnappers searched the ruins for Vivi and one found her. The goat came from behind and hit him with a club. The Kidnapper and the Goat went at each other, but the Goat defeated him by hitting him in the head, but was cut by the Kidnapper’s sword near his left eye. Just then the other two arrived and as they were about to fight the Goat when Igaram and Cobra knocked them out. Pell and Chaka also defeated the rest of the kidnapping crew.
Vivi, as the Goat recovered, cried and told him not to give his life to save hers, after remembering their determination to protect her. Kobra thanked Goat for his noble deed, though Goat said he did it for a friend. Cobra asked if the Goat loved the land and he replied “yes” that it was the land of his birth and Cobra commented that he loved the land too. Koza told Vivi about Toto that he accepted the position of representative to build the Yuba Oasis into a city because it is the center of western Arabasta. Koza told her that he was leaving with his father and would help build Yuba with his own hands. The goat told Vivi to become a great princess as she left.
Back in the present, Nami comments that Vivi’s boyfriend – Koza – seems like a good person and asks what that has to do with the Rebels. Vivi then revealed to Nami that Koza was the leader of the rebel army.
