Summary:
Vivi finds a bomb inside the clock tower, but Mr. 7 and Miss Father’s Day of Baroque Works are there to protect her. Vivi defeats the pair, but realizes that the bomb can’t be stopped that easily because it has a timer. Pell arrives and takes the bomb into the sky, sacrificing his life for his country.
Tashigi attacks the men from the Baroque Cannons and tells the marines that they shouldn’t hesitate and should know who their enemy is right away. On Father’s Day, Mr. 7 and Miss talk happily about detonating the bomb because it’s their last mission from the boss and they believe they’ll get a promotion. Luffy continues to fight the Crocodile, but the poison from the Crocodile’s hook seeped into the wound on Luffy’s shoulder, rendering his body numb. Crocodile tells Luffy that he should have forgotten Vivi because he would have avoided the situations he was in.
Meanwhile, Nami came up with an idea to stop the bomb with a weapon that Usopp had created for her. The plan is to help Vivi up the clock tower, starting with her sitting on top of Chopper, who is standing on Usopp’s shoulders. Nami then threw her Clima-Tact between his legs using Cyclone Tempo, making him jump high enough for Chopper to jump towards Sanji, who kicked them towards Zoro. With just seven seconds left in the air, Mr. 7 and Miss Father’s Day see them coming and fire at them, only hitting Zoro, who manages to push Chopper and Vivi out of the way and high enough for Chopper to throw Vivi towards the clock tower. With five seconds left, Vivi is able to break the fuse, which activates the bomb.
Meanwhile, Crocodile laughs at how pitiful Luffy looks with the poison coursing through his body. Crocodile tells Nefertari Cobra that he was well prepared for this big event and that the time bomb would do a lot of damage from where it was placed and only delay the bomb by a few seconds.
Vivi discovers that the canon is also a time bomb and cries in frustration as she sees Crocodile mocking her. He had told her earlier that she would not be able to save her beloved country no matter what she did. Pell appears and as Vivi tries to tell him about the time bomb, he talks about how the Clock Tower brings back so many memories from Vivi’s childhood.
In Pell’s flashback, he tells Vivi that he is a guardian to protect his country. He takes the time bomb and flies up into the sky. As he flies away, his voice is heard in the background saying, “I am Arabast’s guardian deity, the Falcon! And I swear to destroy the enemies of the royal family.” When the sentence ends, the time bomb goes off.
