Summary:
On Ruluca, some of the Straw Pirates make enemies of the mayor and his men, who have imposed high taxes on everything. Robin, Usopp and Luffy meet Professor Henzo who is doing research on Rainbow Mist Island. When some fog appears, Henzo borrows the Going Merry to go explore it.
Long summary
The episode opens with the Straw Hat Pirates being chased by the Rapanui Pasqua’s fleet of 9 naval ships. Rapanui Pasqua throws a coin, also called a “finger bomb”, which takes down most of the pirate ships, but he sneezes before using his attack, which hits another naval ship. Nami tells the rest of the crew to start racing ahead of the Marine fleet due to the broken formation, where they then stop on Ruluka. Chopper sees a massive tower and the crew follows, only to be stopped by a tax collector who yells at Nami. Sanji stands up to defend Nami, but Luffy with all his hunger attacks over them, running over both the tax collector and Sanji. Usopp and Robin notice Henzo wanting to talk about the Rainbow Mist, so he invites them to a local restaurant.
Usopp starts a discussion about the Rainbow Mist. Henzo talks about how long he’s been researching the Mist, and then Robin shows him a book from Arabasta. The cook and another random man talk to them about how he’s crazy and stealing their tax money. Then the Tax Collection Squad goes to the restaurant and everyone panics and quickly eats everything. One young man unfortunately has to pay because he didn’t finish his liquor, they go to Henzo and talk about how he steals everyone’s taxes, then leave, but not before spotting Luffy eating a pile of spaghetti. So they tax him for eating a bunch of spaghetti, which Usopp has to pay for. They then leave the restaurant as we cut to Sanji, Nami and Chopper buying goods from the market. The Dynamo Squad jumps out to attack them, Sanji tries to use his kick, but since the Dynama Squad’s armor is electric, he gets shocked. Nami and Chopper run for cover while Sanji tries again but fails. He then uses his Ultimate Tactic where he runs away, Dynamo Squad’s armor now falling off as the wire pulls him back, letting Sanji, Nami and Chopper escape. We then jump back to the rest of the crew (other than Zoro).
He hears the scream of a galleon appearing in the harbor. Henzo quickly runs towards him, as does the rest of the crew. Talielisin appears in the harbor. Henzo quickly makes his way to him with his H-1 and the crew gives chase. They come with him to the ship and explore the ship. Henzo has a reading on the Rainbow Mist and it is true that he is trying to steal the Going Merry, but the crew try to stop him. He talks about how he’s been waiting for this day, then rushes into the Rainbow Mist, Sanji is mad at Zoro and calls him a moss head, we cut back to the Going Merry as they enter the Monkey Concert.
