Summary:
Luffy defeats Kuro and Usopp defeats Jango, driving the Black Cat Pirates off the island. The crew receives a new ship from Kaya, accepts Usopp as a new crew member, and sets sail for their next destination.
Kuro tries to use Shakushi on Luffy again, but this time Luffy uses his rubber body to restrain him and prevent him from moving. He stretches his neck back and uses Gomu Gomu no Kane, a powerful butt which knocks Kura unconscious and destroys his glasses. After the battle ends, Luffy orders the remaining Black Cat pirates to leave the island, taking Kuro with them.
At the same time, Zoro and Usopp arrive to protect Kaya from Jango. Zoro cuts down the tree branch, clearing the way for Usopp’s Hissatsu: Kayaku Boshi, a projectile shot that explodes in Jango’s face, defeating him. Not wanting to be known as the village hero, Usopp asks the children not to reveal his actions to the townspeople.
After meeting with the crew to thank them for their help, Usopp meets the children. Explaining his desires to leave the village and become a real pirate, Usopp disbands the crew and tells each child to follow their individual ambitions.
To thank them for their heroic deeds, Kaya presented the crew with the Going Merry, a full-sized caravel designed by Merry. The crew gratefully accepted the ship and prepared to depart, also deciding to take Usopp with them as their new permanent crew member.
Kaya meets Merry on the shore, where Merry explains Usopp’s past. As a child, Usopp’s father, Yasopp, set sail with Shanks to become a pirate, leaving his son and wife behind. Usopp’s mother died of an illness soon after Yasopp left. Now lonely, Usopp became the town’s liar, hoping that his lies would pay off and that his father would one day return.
In the present day, the kids take over Usopp’s role as the town liar and claim that a pirate invasion is coming.
