Summary:
At the beginning of the episode, Luffy completes his Gomu Gomu no Rifle attack on Enel, slamming him into one of Ark Maxim’s golden walls.
Just then, the Ark Maxim detaches and begins to rise into the air. Aisa and Pierre fly to the side patrol and panic about what to do. A bleeding Enel gets up and gives a big speech about how once he defeats Luffy he can have his own world where he is feared and worshiped again and nothing is impossible because he is God.
The inhabitants of Angel Island are still fleeing, and some of them notice in disbelief the ark flying in the sky. They notice black clouds coming out of it and believe that God must be on board. Further up on some clouds, the Shandia gather and notice the Angel Islanders boarding so many ships and wonder what’s going on. A ship approaches, and on it the Angel Islander warns Shandia that the country is on the brink of destruction and that they should immediately board their own ships and flee to the Blue Sea.
Robin started moving Chopper and Zoro’s bodies and sees the Ark in the sky. He immediately guesses that Enel is doing it. Enel tells Luffy that the angels will perish soon and nothing can stop him. Luffy rests in Enel, but Enel uses his electricity to melt part of the golden wall, trapping Luffy’s hand in the extremely hot golden ball that has formed. Enel tells Luffy that he won’t bother continuing to fight him and rolls the balls off the flying ship. Luffy resists with his outstretched arm and the side of the ship, but the orb encased in Luffy’s hand pulls him down like an anchor. Enel tells Luffy that now that Luffy is restrained, Enel is once again supreme. Luffy angrily tells him that there are plenty of other people down in the Blue Sea with similar abilities who can also defeat him. Enraged, Enel uses his spear to destroy the ship’s wall that Luffy was using to resist being pulled down, and Luffy begins to fall into a huge hole below. Luffy berates Enel and yells at him to actually fight.
Aisa and Pierre see this and start flying near Luffy to help him. Enel notices them and realizes they are the two other voices he heard. He then unleashes “God’s Judgment” lightning on the three. Nami screams in despair. In his hesitation, Conis sees the Ark and guesses that this is what the Enforcers were forced to build. She remembers Nami showing her the meeting place of the Straw Pirates on the northeast coast of the island and decides to go there and get to the Going Merry to guide them down to the Blue Sea once they all gather there – as only she can tell them how escape Skype.
Sanji sleep talks and has a beautiful dream where he and Nami are in paradise. He starts cuddling with Usopp in his sleep and wakes up horrified and disappointed because he wanted to stay in the dream with Nami. Awake now, he wonders where Nami is and rushes aboard. He sees the ark in the air and is surprised and some “special ability” allows him to see from a distance that Nami is on board. He doesn’t understand what’s going on. Sanji wakes Usopp and tells him to prepare to save Nami. Usopp is confused but remembers God’s appearance on the ship. Sanji feels guilty for not being able to stop Nami from being kidnapped by God. Sanji shows Usopp the ark and they are both confused. What’s happening? Where is everyone? All Sanji knows is that Nami was in the Ark and she wasn’t wearing a shirt. Sanji and a reluctant Usopp run into the forest to try to board the ark before it gets too far away from them. Sanji wants to use Usopp AAaaaAAAAaaaAA, the rope and hook belt that Usopp used earlier in the Lost Forest.
Enel recounts to Nami his plans to destroy Skypiea and ascend to Fairy Vearth using the Ark Maxim. He also tells himself that he needs to get the Golden Bell that Robin mentioned to him earlier. Nami looks upset and Enel asks her about the future she longs for after surviving so long. She tells him that there is much she wants to have and do, but if she follows Enel, she will be alone. Without her friends, there is nothing she really wants. Enel assumes that must include her life.
Conis is now on the Going Merry and asks Su what’s going on and why Sanji and Usopp are gone. Su tells her about their plan to jump into the ark to save Nami and Conis thinks it’s too dangerous due to the injuries they sustained.
Sanji is on a high rock as the ark flies over them and despite Usopp’s fit of sickness “we can’t go to high places” Usopp lets out an AAaaaAAAAaaAA and Sanji kicks him towards the ark. Enel lectures Nami about her foolish decision to give up her only chance for survival, telling her that the only place she can go after leaving the ship is the afterlife. Sanji climbs the rope now suspended from the lower decks of the ark while Usopp – who has a belt on the other end of the rope – hangs in the air and screams below. Sanji says that if God Enel hurts Nami, Sanji will have to turn into the Blue Sea Devil.
Nami faces Enel and pumps herself up. She tells herself that she will give everything she has to survive and thinks of the rest of the crew and wants to sail the seas with them one more time. As the episode ends, we see Enel standing up as Nami looks at him with a determined look on her face… holding the Clima-Tact behind her back.
