Summary:
Luffy, after finally defeating Rob Lucci, is unable to move after the battle. The Franky family, along with the Galley-La Company, Yokozuna, Oimo, and Kashii are still alive after the Buster Call encounter. When all hope seems lost, the Straw Hats hear a familiar voice telling them to jump into the sea; the voice belongs to Going Merry.
The Marines at Buster Call are stunned by the announcement of Rob Lucci’s defeat. The thought of a pirate capable of defeating what is believed to be the most powerful and ruthless agent of the world government fills everyone with horror at what the Straw Hat Pirates are capable of. On the other side, the Straw Hats and their ally Franky are once again emboldened by Luffy’s victory and begin trying to clear an escape route. Suddenly the Den Den Mushis are filled with voices of congratulations. Usopp stops suddenly, trying to follow something with his ears: something familiar. To Franky’s delight and relief, there are the voices of Zambai and the Franky Family along with Paulie and the Dock 1 shipwrights. While they were surprised by a Buster Call attack and knocked over the edge, Paulie used his rope to throw up a net. The giants Oimo and Kashii withstood the brunt of the attack and allowed everyone to survive. With a Buster Call aimed at the Straw Hats, Zambai assures them that they can escape.
Eventually the Vice Admirals get the Marines over their shock and the fight continues on the Bridge of Hesitation. But the Straw Hats and the Franks continue their stubborn defense. So Buster Call decided to focus on Luffy: too tired to even move from where he fell in victory. Usopp is the first among the Straw Hats to realize Luffy’s problem. First, the marines destroy the escape ship. Luckily, Sanji evacuated Chopper, Kokoro, Chimney, and Gonbe from it before the attack hit. The Straw Hats soon realize that Buster Call is redoubling his efforts and strategically driving them away: even at the expense of his own men. They end up isolated on the second column: they can’t reach Luffy in the first column while the battleships are heading. Just then, Usopp hears the voice again. Soon the rest of the Straw Hats hear it too, telling them to look down. Usopp eventually realizes this and suggests a bold move: jump into the sea. All of the Straw Hats wonder what he could have been thinking, especially since Luffy, Robin, and Chopper all shared a problem with the sea. But Usopp insists they jump anyway: they have a friend down there. Once Robin transports Luffy out of the convoy with Cien Fleur: Delphinium, everyone else jumps. And to their amazement, a friend is waiting below them, ready to receive them: the Going Merry.
