One Piece Episode 321

Summary:

Soon after Sanji, Nami, and Chopper complain and object to their new rewards, the Straw Hat Pirates leave to see Iceburg and their new ship. Meanwhile, in an attempt to force him to join the crew, the Franky Family steals Franky’s swimsuit, leading to the destruction of several buildings in Water 7 in the ensuing chase.

After Zambai and the Franky Family plead with Luffy to take Franky with him now that he is wanted, Luffy calmly agrees since he was looking for the boatman anyway. But Zambai realizes (after watching him last night) that convincing him will be another matter. Leaving Mozu and Kiwi behind, they continue towards Franky House (where Franky is just returning) and say that what they are about to do is between men. As the straw pirates prepare to leave, Roronoa Zoro reminds them of their attitude towards Usopp. Spurred on by Mozu and Kiwi, they head to Scrap Island. At Marineford, Photographer Attach has to explain why Sanji’s wanted poster doesn’t have a photo. The original result of his efforts shows a completely black photo. While Attach thinks it is the result of a mystical power, it was because he forgot to remove the lens cap.

The Straw Hats arrive to see their new ship shrouded. Surprisingly, while Iceburg, Paulie, Lulu, Tilestone, and Yokozuna are present (albeit asleep), Franky is not. When he wakes up, Iceburg notes that Franky didn’t want to be present for the unveiling, but Franky left a message: The Pirate King should sail on a ship decorated with the Beast King. Iceburg unveils its new ship decorated with a lion figure with great fanfare. Before them stands a brig sloop, at least twice the size of the Going Merry, and full of incredible things. Even as the crew accepts their new ship, Iceburg shares something important about Franky. Although he wishes more than anything to accompany the Straw Hats on their journey, Franky feels he owes a duty to Water 7 and especially the Franky Family he has trained and protected for years. He’s stubborn, so if they want Franky as a boatman, they’re going to have to rough it.

The dirty business starts right now as the Franky Family reacts to Franky relaxing at the Franky House. Despite their best efforts, they cannot hold back the tears at what they are about to do. Zambai begins by asking why he won’t go with the Straw Hats. Franky points to the shoddily rebuilt Franky House as proof that they still need his guidance. Zambai then puts up a wanted poster and points out that he’s now wanted and can’t stay in Water 7, buying Franky who blows it off wondering if they’re using it as a ruse to get rid of him. Suddenly one of them sneaks up and pulls off his swimsuit. The Franky Family starts running towards Scrap Island, with Franky chasing after them naked. As each member falls, they pass the slips to the next one in front. The chase goes through back streets, with Franky retaliating when he can, causing collateral damage along with shouts of obscenity from the public. Just as the last member of the Family is about to be captured, he finds Luffy. As Luffy takes his briefs, he thanks Franky for the ship, but Franky continues to demand his briefs back. He ends up shooting Luffy, but Luffy passes the briefs to Chopper, who leads Franky into a trap. Zoro and Sanji grab Franky and stuff him into the Franky Family’s Anything-Shot Cannon, which then shoots him towards Scrap Island. Finally, he climbs down with his feet up for all to see. When he arrives, he turns to see Luffy aboard his new ship, still holding his briefs and says if he wants them back, he has to join the crew.
