Summary:
Duval and his crew arrive at the archipelago and begin collecting straw hats to bring to the Human Auction House where the kidnappers brought Camie. Robin tells Nami why fishmen and merfolk are not welcome on the island because in the past they were discriminated against and classified as mere fish. In the auction house itself, Saint Rosward and Saint Shalria arrive and complain that Saint Charlos is late. Trafalgar Law, Eustass Kid and their crews are already present. Behind the scenes is Camie and other human merchandise, including paint mechanic Silvers Rayleigh, the former first officer of Gol D. Roger himself.
The Rosy Life Riders arrive. Sanji goes straight to work and tells them that a mermaid has been kidnapped. Franky asks them for help in finding the kidnappers. Usopp, Franky and Sanji get on the flying fish and head off. Duval says they’ll pick up Straw Hat Pirates while tracking slave traders.
Chopper paces up and down, thinking about Sanji’s instructions and the Straw Hats department. When he sees Brook calmly drinking tea, he is shocked and berates him, reminding him of Camia’s fate if they sell her. Brook comforts Chopper. When Usopp comes to pick them up, he is shocked to see their relaxed state. Usopp slaps them and they set off, splitting up to investigate the slave traders and collect the remaining Straw Hats. Sanji falls behind because he is on Duval’s ride, Motobaro.
Zoro drops off a patient at the hospital and decides to return to the ship, believing it to be anchored in Grove 1. Luffy looks for Camie in a slave shop, but to no avail. Pappag begins to blame himself for letting her go to Sabaody Park. He says that mermen and fishmen shouldn’t even be on the island, but Hatchan wanted to help the Straw Hats. Before he can finish his sentence, he is interrupted by Hatchan, who asks him not to continue. Luffy wants to know, and Pappag explains that Camie and Hatchan’s enemies aren’t just the slave traders, but rather every human on the island.
Robin explains the past to Nami and says that fish men are discriminated against and everyone looks down on them. It only stopped 200 years ago when the World Government decided to help Fish-Man Island. However, the sale and trade of slaves is still acceptable in the Sabaody Archipelago. Nami wonders if it was because of the past that Camie and Hatchan had to disguise themselves. Franky finds Nami and Robin and tells them that Camie has been kidnapped.
Hatchan apologizes to Luffy, saying that instead of helping, he caused more trouble for him instead. Luffy reassures him that they are his friends and will definitely save Camie. Luffy’s group is found by the Rosy Life Riders and hitches a ride.
At Grove 1, where the Human Auctioning House is located, Peterman makes a donation and surprises Camie’s employees. Saint Rosward and Saint Shalria arrive at the auction house. Eustass Kid watches them enter, noting that “the villains of the world seem far more honorable” compared to them. Heat, a member of his crew, draws his attention to Trafalgar Law, who is sitting a few rows in front of them.
Camie is carried backstage and has a collar on. He recalls the scene in the streets where the collar explodes and he fights harder. Disco comes to check on Camie and slaps her for making a face. Camie yells that Hatchan will come and beat up Disco, angering him. He tries to put Camie’s collar on, but passes out. The giant opens his eyes and addresses the person next to him, asking him to stop pretending, knowing that Haki was being used by him and questioning his identity. The man replies that he is just an old man who ships coats and loves young girls.
