One Piece Episode 405

Summary:

Sentomaru reveals that Kuma has the ability to make people fly through the sky to distant places. Kuma uses his powers to make the other Pacifistas and the rest of the Straw Pirates disappear while Luffy desperately tries to protect them and Rayleigh is busy dealing with Kizaru. Kuma tells Rayleigh something he is reluctant to believe before teleporting a distraught Luffy away, defeating the Straw Hats completely.

A bubble bursts over the Sabaody Archipelago, signifying Zoro’s disappearance. Usopp screams in horror and demands what Kuma did to Zoro. Luffy screams in horror, then he and Robin dodge a slap from Monster Chopper. Robin tries to get the reindeer under control while Luffy yells at Zoro. Sentomaru dodges Chopper’s furious blow and demands to know what he’s doing here.

Meanwhile, Rayleigh and Kizaru continue their duel. The latter knows that the Shichibukai are supposed to report to Marine HQ, while the former is currently preoccupied with his fight. Franky sees that Kuma erased Zoro, as Nami saw back on Thriller Bark. Cyborg Straw Hat hopes that Zoro is still alive. Luffy wants to know what happened to Zoro, but Sentomaru doesn’t answer because he is the most guarded man in the world. However, he admits that if Kuma slaps someone’s paw pads, he will fly for three days and nights, but even to him, that’s just a rumor. Only Kuma would know where his victims end up, but Zoro is no longer in the Sabaody Archipelago. Sanji realizes that Kuma has reappeared in front of the Straw Hats. As Usopp tries to shoot Kuma, he also targets the pacifist, but the Shichibukai blasts the cyborg with his paw. Sentomaru begins to admonish the Shichibukai for attacking an ally.

Luffy orders a full retreat for his crew, hoping to figure out a way to turn the tide. Nami starts running with Franky while Usopp hopes to carry Sanji to safety. Brook vows to sacrifice himself even though he’s already dead, but Kuma detonates him within milliseconds. Sanji starts to rage and orders Usopp to leave. He tries to stand up, but Shichibukai stops his kick. Usopp tries to fight back, but like Zoro and Brook, Kuma blasts him off the island. Sanji tries to make a last stand but is also repelled. As Rayleigh and Kizaru continue to fight, the former begins to know her limitations. Kuma then appears in front of Rayleigh and tells him to trust the Shichibukai. Since Kuma’s plans have nothing to do with the marines, Luffy switches to Second Gear. However, Kuma then turns to Franky and Nami and resists the Cyborg’s Strong Right. Luffy tries to use the Gomu Gomu no Jet Pistol, but it is deflected. Franky is shocked at his captain’s situation just as Kuma slaps him with his paw. Nami cries desperately for Luffy to help and save her, and Kuma’s paw pad knocks her off the island.

Luffy becomes enraged after Nami’s disappearance and tries to hit Kuma again, but misses. Monster Chopper then sees Kuma and attempts a heroic sacrifice, but like the rest of the crew is knocked off the island by Kuma’s paw. Captain Straw Hat begins to despair and attempts to reach Robin, only to lose her when Kuma slaps his paw. Luffy begins to melt with sadness at his uselessness and inability to save his crew. He also thinks about the times he spent with his crew. Kizaru demands an explanation from Kuma for his actions. Shichibukai tells Luffy that they will never meet again. She says goodbye to him and finally slaps him with a paw pad. With this, the Straw Hats were finally defeated.
