One Piece Episode 480

Summary:

Luffy accidentally hits Garp, who is blocking his path to Ace. As Garp falls, the bridge crumbles. Luffy jumps onto the rubble and reaches the scaffolding. He quickly pulls out the key to Ace’s handcuffs that Hancock gave him. However, before he could unlock the handcuffs, Kizaru splits the key in two. Meanwhile, Sengoku used his devil fruit power to transform into a Buddha-like being, and Mr. 3 (disguised as an ace executioner) woke up. Sengoku’s attack shatters the scaffolding. Galdino makes a key with his Doru Doru powers as they fall. Luffy unlocks Ace’s handcuffs and Ace is finally released.

As Luffy continues to run down the path created by Inazuma with his Choki Choki no Mi powers, Helmeppo cries over Koby, who appears to have passed out after being punched by Luffy. The marines then try to shoot Luffy, but Boa Hancock intervenes and stops them with her Slave Arrow move. Garp, Luffy’s grandfather, continues to yell that Luffy must kill him to pass.

Luffy then has a flashback to training where he tries to keep fighting off the fighting monkeys but eventually gets tired and then asks his grandfather, “Why do I have to keep fighting them, it just makes me hungry.” Garp says, “So you’ll make a strong sailor.” Luffy shouts defiantly that he wants to be a pirate.

As he continues to run, Luffy has another flashback, training again. This time he attacks the Gorilla but doesn’t hit the Gorilla. He tries to Gomu-Guma without moving, but fails and catches his arm in a nearby tree. Garp helps him down and fixes his straw hat. As his grandfather does, Luffy says, “I will become a pirate, not just a pirate, a pirate king.” Angered by his statements, Garp is frustrated and blames the redheaded Shanks for influencing Luffy to become a pirate, thus dismissing the Gorilla who says “I’ve got to knock some character into my grandson”. Kick Luffy directly. He then carries Luffy on his back and talks to him about himself and his wishes.

As the flashback ends, Garp shouts, “Luffy, I now consider you my enemy!” Luffy then switches to Gear Second and is about to inadvertently punch his grandfather, who is also about to punch his grandson, but in the midst of the commotion, he gets caught up in his loving heart for Luffy and is knocked down by his own grandson.

The road then begins to collapse as Garp continues to fall to the ground head first. Luffy then jumps through the rumble and reaches the platform where Ace is being held. When Luffy tries to untie his brother Ace, Admiral Kizaru splits the key in half. Mr. 3 then realizes it’s Luffy and makes a key for him. As Luffy takes off his handcuffs, his brother Admiral Sengoku transforms into a large Buddha-like figure using his Devil Fruit powers. He then punches them, but Luffy expands with Gear Third.

Galdino, Luffy, and Ace start falling off the platform after being hit by Sengoku. Meanwhile, all the marines are firing cannons at them. They seem to be hit directly, but Ace uses his Devil Fruit powers to save them. Ace is free and Luffy, Galdino and Whitebeard are alive.
