Summary:
Ace and Sabo rescue Luffy from Porchema by defeating him. Bluejam is angry at Porchemy for his failure and kills him. Luffy finally gets along with Ace and Sabo. Sabo decides to stay on Mount Colubo with the Dadan family.
Despite being beaten by Porchem, Luffy insists on not telling them a word about Ace and Sabo’s theft. Then Porchemy decides to take the hard way and pulls out his special sword. Just as he was about to kill Luffy, Ace and Sabo hurriedly destroyed the room they were in and fought the Porchems. Ace tells Sabo to pick up Luffy and make a run for it while he faces the Porchems. Sabo asks why Ace doesn’t run away with them, to which he replies that he never runs away from a fight. Sabo then finds himself in such a situation that he leaves Luffy on the ground and decides to fight alongside Ace. Ace and Sabo surprisingly win their battle. Then the other shocked Bluejam Pirates report Porchemy’s loss and the two children’s victory. Bluejam goes to Porchemy and sees him badly injured. Disgusted that his best crew member was defeated by mere children, Bluejam kills him with a flintlock gun.
After recovering from his injuries, Luffy begins to annoy. Ace tells him to stop pestering and interrupting them. Luffy tells him to never die because he is his only family besides Garp. Ace then recalls his past wondering if the existence of Gol D. Roger’s son would be right, to which the people replied that he would be a devil who did not deserve to be born. Accepting Luffy’s reason, Ace starts arguing with him about who is the strongest until Sabo steps in and stops them. He then says that if he stays in the forest, Bluejam’s crew could find him and potentially kill him, so he asks to stay with Dadan’s family.
The next morning, Luffy, Ace, and Sabo are found sleeping by Dogra, Pochi, and Magra, leading to them waking up Dadan. Dadan proceeds to wake up Ace and Luffy, but neither gives an answer, so he wakes up Sabo himself. Sabo introduces himself to her and manages to convince her to let him stay with them. Shortly after, the three decide to head out, but before leaving, Sabo warns Dadan that Bluejam’s crew might be passing by since they beat up one of his crew and robbed them. Luffy decides he wants to get food first, so Ace and Sabo go with him. Sabo and Ace manage to catch a huge fish, and while they’re eating, Sabo asks Luffy what fruit he ate, and Ace says that trading the ability to swim for a rubber man is stupid. Luffy decides to show Sabo his newly developed technique, Gomu Gomu no Fusen, and while he is unprepared, Ace decides to play with him by kicking him, causing Luffy to fall into the river. As he dives, a huge crocodile appears and swallows Luffy whole. Ace and Sabo get angry and defeat the crocodile to save Luffy. They decide to eat the crocodile for dinner, but as they are carrying it back, Sabo suddenly tells them that he has to check on something and asks both Luffy and Ace to accompany him. They realize that Bluejam’s crew is still looking for them when they return to Ace and Saba’s original hideout, so they decide to look around the Gray Terminal. The three Bluejams are quickly discovered but manage to escape.
Back to Mt. Colubo, the Dadan family discuss what should be done to get Luffy and company to start a conflict with the Bluejam Pirates. They say things like Dadan’s family is done for, or that they will all be massacred, which angers Dadan and leads her to finally say that if the Bluejams actually come here, they will just turn them in. he says that even if they hand them in, Bluejam won’t be satisfied, so the final solution for them will end up being just feigning ignorance. Dadan decides to practice, but they end up being so terrible at lying that he admits it’s hopeless. The episode ends with Luffy returning with Ace, Sabo, and the crocodile.
