Summary:
On an island in the Grand Line, Buggy’s crew cry and lament how much they missed their captain. Buggy also cries and laments that he missed them so much and said how they had so much faith in him that they would wait for him. Alvida remarked to herself that those guys (the Buggy crew) had given up on him a long time ago. Afterwards, Mohji, Cabaji and Richie introduced themselves to the new crew of prisoners who had escaped with Buggy from Impel Down. Alvida, somewhat taken aback by Buggy’s actions, noted that the prisoners he brought with him were hideous prisoners with high bounties. Afterwards, Buggy showed her captain John’s treasure tag. Buggy then told her that Luffy gave it to him and boasted that the wind doesn’t blow east or west, it blows straight towards him. Alvida then informs Buggy about Luffy’s current escapade in Marineford. Buggy looked very confused after reading the paper about Luffy’s connection to Rayleigh, noting that Rayleigh could be Luffy’s uncle. At this point, Mr. 3 tells Buggy that he (Buggy) received a letter from the World Government. Mr. 3 continued to read the letter and was completely surprised by what it said.
Next, on the Sabaody Archipelago GR 44, the Coffee Monkeys ask the Rosy Life Riders to hand over the Thousand Sunny to them in hopes of getting a lot of money from the Marines. They also say that if Duval’s crew hands over the ship, they will split the profits with them since they are in the same business. In response, Duval kicks out the Coffee Monkeys, saying he won’t hand over the ship. Shakky, also present, says he has to protect the ship. At this time, Bartholomew Kuma appears. Shakky tells them not to panic and says that Kuma was somewhere nearby to see Rayleigh and asks Kuma if he’s on their side.
Next, in Alubarna in the Kingdom of Arabasta, Pell and Chaka have just finished driving some pirates out of the harbor. Pell stated that they were tightening the security of the kingdom as pirate activities increased after Whitebeard’s death. Cobra commented how he wished every pirate was like Luffy. Pell went to ask the king if he had looked at the newspaper and Igaram replied that Vivi was very happy that Luffy and the others were safe. However, Cobra indicated that after a few seconds her happiness turned to confusion and she took the paper to her room. In Vivi’s room, she asked what Luffy had on his arm; whether it was numbers, brands or some new fashion. But she couldn’t come up with an answer.
Next, the island where the Crocodile stayed is shown. He read the paper and commented that it had been three weeks since the war and he barely escaped death, wondering what they (Luffy, Jinbe and Rayleigh) were up to. Daz Bonez replied that either they were up to something or they were just crazy. The crocodile then mentioned that he had been healed and was heading back to the New World. He asked Daze if he would accompany him and he agreed.
The news spread around the world and people got it in Luffy’s hometown, the dojo where Zoro trained, Nami’s village (with her sister and Genzo reading the newspaper), Baratie Restaurant, Drum Island (with Dr. Kureha and Dalton reading the newspaper) , Franky Family, Iceburg and Paulie in Water 7 and the Dadan Family who walked in front of Ace and Luffy’s old tree house and yelled at Ace that his brother he saved was alive and he should rest in peace.
Next, Luffy is shown on the Kuja Pirates ship apologizing to the girls for the long journey. They replied that they were used to long journeys. They keep tugging at his skin, telling him he needs to make sure he rests as per their captain’s orders. Luffy worries and wonders if his crew will get the message. Rayleigh told him not to worry and that he would get the message; even though there was one among them who looked bored, he (Rayleigh) was sure the guy would get the message eventually.
The crew members will then appear. Chopper sits on the back of one of the birds from the Kingdom of Turin and called out to Luffy that he understood the message. Robin is in a horse-drawn carriage and recognizes the hidden instruction when he understands Luffy’s message. Sanji in Kamabakka Kingdom was shown next as he also implies that he understood Luffy’s message. After failing to leave the Boin Archipelago again, Usopp stuffs his face when a newspaper falls to the ground. He also shows that he understood Luffy’s message while reading the newspaper. In Weatheria, Nami is trying to escape when the Haredas come to her saying that the balloon terminal has been closed and they should go back to his place for now. He pointed to the newspaper and Nami understood the hidden message when she read it. He also comments on how selfish Luffy was to make a decision on his own without thinking about what their feelings were. On Karakuri Island, Franky survived the blast, although he was badly damaged by the explosion caused by the accidental self-destruction of Vegapunk’s lab. He shouts that he understood the message from Luffy. Next up is Brook who looks like he’s in prison as he mutters to himself how he needs to get out of the situation he’s in. The newspaper he asked for was given to him by one of his captors and when he read it he understood the message. also. Finally, Zoro is shown on Kuraigana Island and is scolded by Perona. She then tells Zoro about the newspaper she had and how it is up to date on Luffy. With difficulty moving, Zoro demands to see the news and tries his best to decode its meaning while Perona holds the newspaper. He knows that returning Luffy to Marineford is not something his captain would do because it must be Rayleigh’s idea. He explains that there must be a catch, but he’s still unable to immediately find the hidden message Rayleigh alluded to earlier.
