Luffy and Jinbe begin their duel to see who will fight Hody. However, their fight is interrupted due to the intervention of Sanji and Robin. Meanwhile, Hody ordered all of his men to move from Ryugu Palace to Gyoncorde Plaza along with the residents of the Fish-Man District, allowing the captured Straw Hats to devise an escape plan.
As he recovers, Jinbe explains that if Luffy fights Hody now, the people of Fish-Man Island will see humans as a violent race, but Sanji says that they have a reason to fight Hody to save their crew. However, Jinbe still won’t let Luffy go, renewing their duel.
Luffy and Jinbe begin their duel to see who will face Hody, and as Luffy tries to leave, Jinbe attacks him with his Fish-Man Karate, injuring Luffy. Nami wonders how it hurt him since he’s a rubber man and Jinbe explains the mechanics of Fish-Man Karate. As Luffy activates Gear Second and the two are about to clash, Robin intervenes and as Sanji tries to save her, she disappears and Luffy, Jinbe and Sanji punch each other while the real Robin emerges from the forest and reveals that she has learned to clone herself.
At the palace, Brook comes up with an escape idea and demonstrates a new skill that involves separating his soul from his body, shocking Usopp and Zoro. He explains that he learned this trick from praying one day and used its power to peek at girls while acting perverted, much to Usopp’s jealousy. Zoro tells him to find Pappago and get him a sword and says he will cut the bars off of them. Brook eventually finds him, but Pappag is terrified and runs away screaming at Brook’s evil appearance, thinking he is a ghost, while Brook tries to tell him to give him the sword for Zoro. Meanwhile, Hody and his crew prepare to go to Gyonchorde Plaza to kill Neptune, but the injury Zoro gave him still hurts and he takes more energy steroids to relieve the pain. As he said about all the other Fish-Mans moving into houses on the island, he says it’s good and will create a new island of Fish-Man who hates humans. Fukaboshi and his brothers eventually defeat Dosun and his allies and set out to rescue their father.
In the Sea Forest, Luffy, Jinbe, and Sanji take on the attacks they received and Jinbe tells Luffy the reasons why they can’t fight because it will cause more hatred towards Fish-Man if people get involved, especially the ones who stopped Arlong. Sanji says that with their crew involved and the crisis the island is in, they just can’t leave things as they are now and they have to help. He also notices how quite Hachi has been acting and remembers his statement about Hody showing no mercy to Fish-Man who are friends with humans and asks if Hody and the others hurt him because of their mutual friendship. Camie also asks, but Hachi doesn’t give a straight answer. Sanji says they have a reason to fight, but then breaks down and says it’s to protect Shirahoshi and the mermaids he met, much to Nami’s anger. Luffy again tells Jinbe to step aside so he can defeat Hody. However, Jinbe still won’t let him go, saying that he himself must go and confront Hody, causing the two to fight again.
