One Piece Episode 583

Summary:

Nami’s group escapes from the prison cell and ends up in the Biscuits Room where they find giant babies. The kids play with Chopper and Franky for a while, but are startled when the head samurai asks if they’ve seen a boy named Momonosuke. Soldiers in hazmat suits arrive and attempt to capture Nami’s group, and the pirates flee. Meanwhile, Usopp makes a banana boat so that Luffy’s group can get through the fire side of Punk Hazard to the snow side of the island. The centaur that Luffy beat up earlier sees them and tells his boss that the straw pirates are heading to the snow part of Punk Hazard.

Back at the mysterious facility, Nami’s group decides to stay and save the children and defeat the hazmat suit soldiers. Meanwhile, on the frozen side of the island, Brook is building snowmen and just after his snowmen are finished, he is suddenly attacked by a samurai torso.

In the Frozen Lands, inside the mysterious facility, Sanji’s group stares in awe at the children in front of them, while the children appear to be afraid of the Straw Hats. Sanji asks who the kids are and Nami wonders if this is an island daycare. Franky mentions their size, comparing them to giants, but Nami points out that some children are not as big as others. Sanji then points out that this may be a multi-racial nursery, and Nami notices that there are no adults around. then the kid asks who they are and the little girl says she doesn’t know any of them. The little girl then asks them if they are the ones who froze, but Nami and Sanji question what she means. The kids then notice Franky’s body and start staring in amazement. The kids then start running towards Franky, knocking Sanji down in the process. Nami tries to ask the kids about the frozen people, but then the kids notice Chopper and start playing with him. Sanji comments on how popular Franky is with the boys, and then a small boy approaches him and calls him “Spiral Eyebrows”. Sanji then tells the kid to shut up, but other kids show up and start calling him “eyebrow spiral”. Franky then starts showing off, showing the kids her different hairstyles and what she can do with her body. The kids start imitating Franky, which angers Nami as she wants to find out information.

Suddenly, the samurai yells at the kids and asks them if they know a kid named Momonosuke, and says he’s a boy. The sight of a samurai’s severed head scares the children and they run away. Sanji and Nami tell him to shut up because if he does they’ll never be able to get information out of him.

Suddenly, men in hazmat suits arrive in the cookie room. Franky notices them approaching and tells the others it’s time to run. Sanji continues to question the children and the samurai keeps asking them if they know his son. Nami tells the samurai to keep his mouth shut and slaps him because he’s scaring the kids and no information can be gleaned from them. The samurai claims that being hit by a woman is dishonorable to a samurai and that he should commit ritual suicide. Nami then tells him to do it. The men in hazmat suits prepare to shoot the Straw Hats, but stop when they realize they will hit the children, angering their master.

In the Burning Lands, Luffy’s group arrived at the lake. Usopp asks Luffy if he really wants to cross the lake and Luffy says yes. Zoro suggests that they swim across, causing Luffy to say that he is a Devil Fruit user, and Robin imagines Usopp and Zoro carrying them across the lake on their backs. Usopp says that there’s no way he’s going to do that and that Zoro wouldn’t either, but when he looks at Zoro he can see him stretching in preparation for the task. Usopp realizes that if they don’t go through here, they’ll have to go all the way around, so he uses his “Special Attack – Green Star” ability to grow grass. He then fires a Boaty Banana and Luffy jumps into it. Usopp explains that fan grass can be used as an oar. Robin then praises Usopp’s new techniques and explains his hardships on the Boin Archipelago where he learned the new techniques. Usopp starts bragging about his bravery on the islands, but is interrupted by Luffy, who tells him to hurry up. The Straw Hats then start rowing a boat through the rough wind on the lake. Robin explains that the harsh winds are caused by the large temperature difference between the hot and cold sides of the island. Suddenly, the leopard centaur from earlier returns and throws a boulder at Boaty Banana. Luffy then asks the centaur if he has changed his mind and if he wants to join their crew now. Zoro and Usopp then tell Luffy to stop recruiting freaks. The centaur then pulls out a horn and blows his horn. He calls his boss, which makes Usopp remember talking to the man at Den Den Mushi. The centaur then tells his boss to finish off the intruder. Suddenly a large pack of centaurs appears on the other side of the lake and the largest one claims to see a man with swords on the other side and concludes that the man is a samurai who cut down his men.

In the cookie room, Sanji’s group continues to run away from men in hazmat suits. The hazmat suit men tell the kids to get out of the way, and the blond little boy from earlier asks Franky if he’s from another island. Franky tells him yes and then the boy asks them if they have a boat and Franky says yes to that too. The boy then tells him to help them, which surprises the Straw Hats. Sanji wonders what he means, and Chopper concludes that it’s not actually a nursery school. The little girl from earlier then confronts Nami and begs her to save them, causing Nami to quit. Nami considers helping the children, but Sanji tells her to hurry up, prompting her to keep running. The kids then state that they’re not sick anymore and just want to go home, causing Chopper to wonder what kind of illness they might have. Men in hazmat suits then go up to the kids and call them brats.

The children look sadly at the departing Straw Hats and the men confront the children. The men tell the children that the Straw Hats are bad people and that they should stay away from them. The kids say that the Straw Hats didn’t seem like bad people, but the hazmat suit men then say that the Straw Hats tricked them. The kids then ask if each of the Straw Hats is a villain, and the men in the hazmat suits say they are, saying they will protect the kids from the bad guys. He then states that they are going to put the Straw Hats to sleep with their gas. The little girl from earlier then screams at the Straw Hats and tells them she wants to go home. All the kids then tell the pirates to wait and the hazmat suit men call them brats again. A little boy and girl beg Nami to help them, and men in hazmat suits ask the kids to stop running. Nami tells the two that they have to run, but the kids keep following them. Chopper then says that they should take the kids with them, but Franky says that they don’t even know how to save themselves and that they can’t take that many kids, causing Franky to go into one of his depressive states. The children then stop running and are out of breath. The black haired girl then yells at the Straw Hats asking them to come back later and help them, saying that she knows there is no one else on the island to save them since it is uninhabited. He then states that he just wants to see his father and mother again and continues to beg Nami to come back for them later. The baby starts crying and the hazmat suit men keep getting closer and Sanji tells Nami to keep running. Nami then remembers the happiness the children were showing before and compares it to their crying now. Nami then turns around and says they should help the kids. Sanji turns and says that they can’t be sure that the children really need saving, and that the men in hazmat suits might be right about them being sick. Sanji claims that it’s not their job to help every single person, but Nami says that you just can’t turn your back on a child who’s crying out for help. The hazmat suit men then decide that the best thing to do is to gas the kids as well, and just as they are about to shoot, Sanji bursts in from behind and uses a Diable Jambe Collier Strike on the man who was about to gas them. The samurai exclaims that Sanji is really strong and the kids call him really cool. Chopper then joins the fight and uses Kung Fu Point to fend off the hazmat suit men. Franky also joins in and uses the Strong Right to take down the dangerous guy. As the Straw Hats fight, the children exclaim how great their abilities are. The men in hazmat suits are surprised that the Straw Hats have stopped running, and Sanji states that he likes Nami’s affection for children and declares that he is falling for her even more. Sanji tells Chopper to go with Nami and the kids to follow Chopper and Nami, and that he and Franky will fight the hazmat suit men. He then tells them not to misunderstand his actions and that he is only doing this for Nami and that he hates them because of how much he cares for them. The kids thank Sanji and then leave with Nami and Chopper. Sanji and Franky then tell the hazmat suit guys to put it on.

Outside the facility, Brook builds a snowman. He wonders how long it will be before Luffy’s group gets to him and finishes his last snowman. Suddenly someone holding a fire sword starts cutting down Brook’s snowmen and Brook goes on the defensive and engages the swordsman. Brook then notices that the swordsman is just a torso.
