One Piece Episode 642

Summary:

Sanji learns the truth about what happens before they arrive in Dressrosa. He tells Law through Den Den Mushi to get out of Green Bit. Unfortunately, it was too late as the Marines, Issho and Doflamingo also made it to the exchange point. Back at the Coliseum, more rounds begin, but Luffy tries to hide his powers.

Law and Caesar Clown are waiting for Doflamingo at the rendezvous point in the Green Bit. He then receives a call from Sanji, who is escaping Doflamingo’s men with Viola. During the conversation, Sanji is forced to take down several thugs when cornered in a small alley, then continues to speak. He tells Law that Doflamingo’s resignation is a sham and that handing over Caesar wouldn’t be a deal at all. Sanji warns Law to leave the Green Bit before it’s too late.

During a flashback, Viola informs Sanji of Doflamingo’s plan by using her power to show him what happened in Dressrose that morning. Sanji sees people screaming in panic outside the royal palace: they want to know why Doflamingo abdicated the throne. At the palace, Doflamingo is angry at all the commotion outside and wonders why “they” aren’t here yet. It is then that CP0 arrives on the island with a ship bearing their symbol. Shortest Agent CP0 tells the citizens that the earlier announcement of Doflamingo’s resignation from the Shichibukai and his abdication of the Dressrosan throne is false. The citizens are relieved to hear this and start cheering. Agent CP0 goes on to say that the error will be corrected through the next edition of the newspaper due at 3:00 p.m. It warns citizens to keep this information secret until the next edition is released. After the agent’s announcement, Viola stops using her power and confirms to a shocked and confused Sanji that everything he just saw is true.

In the present, Sanji again urges Law to leave the island. Doflamingo is then seen approaching the island using his Devil Fruit ability to cross the waters between Dressrosa and Green Bit. On another part of the island, Issho leads a group of marines. He stops walking while talking through Baby Den Den Mushi with Sakazuki. Issho asks if Marine HQ was fooled by a fake news. Sakazuki admits that they were indeed tricked and says that he will talk to the Five Elders at Mary Geoise. He orders Issho to go to the meeting place. Sanji tells Law one last time to leave the island before hanging up. Just as Law is trying to decide what he should do, Robin’s upper half sprouts from the ground. This surprises Caesar and Robin explains that what he sees is just a clone. She then tells Law that she overheard the conversation and asked if the caller was Sanji. Law asks Robin where she and Usopp are. He then goes on to say that if Sanji’s report is true, the deal with Doflamingo is done, much to Caesar’s dismay. Law asks Robin to call Usopp. Robin replies that she can’t help at the moment because she and Usopp are stuck underground with the Green Bit. He says if Law is going to run, he has to leave them behind. However, just as Law agrees to leave, he notices Issho and a group of marines walking towards him. Doflamingo then also arrives on the island while Robin dissolves his clone. Then it’s exactly 3:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, at the Corrida Colosseum, Gatz announces the arrival of all the Gladiators of Block C and announces the start of the battle. Meanwhile, on the way to the Colosseum, Cavendish rushes to go to the ring to find Luffy, but is stopped by the guards. Back in the ring, Luffy’s identity was almost revealed as he continued to stretch, which some gladiators note is that he can stretch like a rubber band. At the ring entrance, Cavendish shouted that “Lucy” was Luffy in disguise, but no one heard him.

Meanwhile, the News Coos delivered another edition of the day’s newspaper telling everyone that Doflamingo’s resignation was fake, earning everyone’s shock.

In Green Bit, Law questions Doflamingo as if he actually used the powers of the world government and fooled the whole world to fool the ten pirates, saying that he’s only a pirate, even if he’s a Shichibukai, he shouldn’t be able to do such a big thing as print of fake news, an act that only the world’s nobles have the authority to do. A flashback of Verga is seen saying that Law doesn’t know Joker’s past and it will cost him his life. This made Law wonder if Doflamingo was a World Noble.

The episode ends with Doflamingo having a single purpose, he wanted to kill Law.
