Summary:
Luffy tries to save his friends but only speeds up the deadly waxing process. To make matters worse, Miss Goldenweek intervenes and reveals her own terrifying ability to hypnotize people with the Color Trap.
Mr. 3 decides to fight Luffy because he suspects that Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine are not strong enough. So he orders them to defeat Usopp and Karoo.
Mr. 3 blocks Luffy’s legs with his wax, but the young pirate uses it to destroy part of the structure, killing Zoro, Nami, and Vivi. The wax around his feet breaks as he does so, but the transformation of his friends into statues accelerates. Luffy tries to destroy the Giant Candle Service Set again, but Mr. 3 defends his creation with several Candle Walls. Even Usopp tries to destroy the Giant Candle service kit with an exploding star, but Mr. 5 eats it with no problem.
Luffy defeats Mr. 3 so he can free his friends, but decides not to. Miss Goldenweek actually used her ability, Colors Trap, to hypnotize him. Luffy stands on the paint commanding people to betray friends. Vivi tricks him into going outside the symbol, but Miss Goldenweek draws another symbol on his back and Luffy starts laughing. Running away from their pursuers, Usopp and Karoo hit Luffy, partially erasing the symbol. Luffy is now freed from the hypnosis, but is immediately victimized by another who prevents him from saving his friends.
Usopp escapes from Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine and returns to Luffy, but it seems to be too late for Zoro, Nami, and Vivi.
As Luffy prepares his Goma Goma no Suchi to tear down Mr. 3’s giant candle service set, he uses Brogy’s helmet tip to go around and around, making Brogy dizzy. In the manga, Luffy used a wax dagger instead, leaving him bleeding and screaming in pain.
When Luffy realizes that Zoro, Nami, and Vivi have turned into wax figures, the trio is completely covered, but when Luffy dodges Mr. 3’s harpoons, they are still the same as when Luffy got there.
