Summary:
The Sanji Retrieval Team lands on Cacao Island, an island near Whole Cake Island where everything is made of chocolate. Luffy and Chopper eat the entire cafe and are almost arrested, but are saved by the cafe’s owner, Charlotte Pudding. They talk to her, but Luffy accidentally reveals who she is.
On Whole Cake Island, Big Mom is overseeing the preparations for the wedding Tea Party, which will take place in three days.
Luffy and Chopper gaze in awe at the city in front of them, which not only has a large number of people walking around, but is also made up almost entirely of chocolate. At Sunny, Nami and Carrot excitedly wear their new clothes and Nami beats up Brook for peeking up her skirt. Pekoms tells them that it takes a day to get to Whole Cake Island from their current location, so he tells them to stock up on groceries before they leave. Carrot notes that a large number of races gather on the island, including minks. Pekoms then explains Big Mom’s dream: a utopia where every race can coexist peacefully. He reveals that there are 34 minister-controlled islands surrounding Whole Cake Island, all collectively known as Totto Land. The city they are in is Chocolat City on Cacao Island, ruled by the Minister of Chocolate and made entirely of chocolate. Carrot asks if the chocolate can be eaten and Pekoms confirms it, but reveals that it is illegal to consume the roofs as they protect the residents from the rainfall the island receives. Pekoms tells them to hurry back and that he will stay on the ship, but asks them to bring him some chocolate. He then looks for Luffy to change clothes, but Carrot and Nami reveal that he has already gone to explore the city, infuriating Pekoms. Nami says not to worry as they should find him easily, and her point is confirmed when a person shouts that someone ate the cafe.
In town, an angry policeman confronts a very fat Luffy and Chopper for eating the entire cafe, but they reply that they had a good reason, namely that it was too good not to eat. The police officer angrily tells them that they are going to the station with him, and Pedro prepares to free Luffy and Chopper by force, despite Brook’s pleas. Suddenly, someone flies onto the carpet and tells the policeman to wait, and he recognizes him as the owner of the cafe. A woman arrives and a police officer shows her what happened to her cafe, but she unexpectedly yells at Luffy and Chopper for not eating the entire building. She puts jam, biscuit and chocolate in their mouths, confirming the policeman’s finding that they are in fact the dismantlers she hired. The police officer warns Luffy and Chopper to give notice before they take anything else apart and apologizes for the chaos he caused. He then congratulates the owner, Charlotte Pudding, on her upcoming marriage, which makes her very happy. The Sanji Retrieval Team is confused by their unexpected savior when a mink suddenly approaches Pedro and asks what he’s doing there. Pedro closes his mouth, whispers that he is on vacation, and tells him not to alert the others of his arrival. Nami is surprised that Pedro knows people in this town and Pedro says he will tell her later.
Later, the Sanji Retrieval Team eats at another cafe and Luffy thanks Pudding for saving them. However, Pudding is grateful to him for declaring her cafe delicious and revealing that it was made from a recipe she created from scratch. Brook cries at Pudding’s generous nature as Luffy shares his love of chocolate with her, but Nami says they can’t stay long. Pudding understands but asks if they want tea first to wash down the chocolate. While making tea, Pudding asks the Sanji Retrieval Team what their names are and Luffy tells her who they are, despite Nami’s futile attempt to cover his mouth, startling her.
On Whole Cake Island, Big Mom asks how long they have until the Tea Party, and the two singers reply that they have three days. The two singers also confirm that Sanji has arrived and the people continue to sing while Big Mom asks about the wedding cake and its ingredients. Her subordinates call from different islands and get the ingredients for the cake by murdering the people guarding them. Big Mom and her entourage sing as they celebrate the upcoming ceremony, and Big Mom remarks that she heard about Luffy’s presence in her territory.
The anime adds the following:
More scenes of Luffy and Chopper exploring Chocolate Town.
After Pekoms explains Chocolat Town, Brook asks if there are panties made of chocolate.
At Pudding’s house, Brook asks about Pudding’s panties until Nami interrupts him.
Before the conversation with Pudding, the anime adds scenes of Luffy and Chopper eating the walls of Pudding’s house.
Additional scenes of Amanda, Diesel, and Randolph, also showing their designs before they were de-shadowed in the manga.
In the Bloody Party sequence, the flower homies and furniture homies answering Big Mom’s questions are replaced by two female singers. Both singers are wearing black dresses and sunglasses.
Unlike in the manga, when Carrot sees the inhabitants of Cacao Island from the Thousand Sunny, he has to use binoculars.
The doomed inhabitants of the islands, where Big Mom’s minions gather the ingredients for the wedding cake, know about Big Mom’s goal for the tea party.
