Summary:
LLuffy’s duplicates burst out of the wedding cake and went berserk at the wedding venue as the cake collapsed. Following Bege’s plan, Luffy goes after Carmel’s photo. However, his attempt is thwarted by Katakuri.
Jinbe steps in and saves Luffy from Katakuri’s clutches. He then confronts Big Mom and declares his intention to leave her crew and join the Straw Hats. Big Mom then tries to take Jinbe’s life, but his lack of fear of her causes her powers to have no effect. As Big Mom attacks Jinbe in a fit of rage, Brook destroys Carmel’s photo.
About three and a half hours ago, Luffy asked Bege to put a mirror in the cake so he could enter the wedding. Bege resisted at first, but Luffy insisted on entering in a fun way before noticing that Brûlée had once turned animals into duplicates of his crew members and intended to use this to his advantage. In the present, multiple duplicates of Luffy are creating chaos throughout the wedding venue, and the Morgans are excitedly taking photos of the infamous pirate’s entrance. The wedding cake begins to crumble and Sanji uses Sky Walk to send the crying pudding away. Smoothie confronts Mont-d’Or, Opera led him to believe that Luffy was killed. Mont-d’Or curses Opera for lying to protect herself, and nearby, Big Mom goes to her crumbling cake, furious and on the verge of collapse. Streusen tries to stop her, but her eyes change color as he orders three chefs to bring her a new wedding cake. Since they are unable to do so, Morgans notes that Big Mom will perform “Soul Pocus”. The atmosphere around Big Mom and the chefs changes dramatically when she gives them the choice of bringing another wedding cake or giving up their lives. The cooks fear for their lives, causing wisps of their lifespan to leave their bodies, and as they run, Big Mom drains their lives.
Inside the Mirror World, all of Luffy’s duplicates have been released, so Jinbe and Pedro go to back up Luffy while Nami, Chopper, and Carrot go to help Sanji, leaving Caesar alone with Brûlée. Outside, Big Mom angrily turns her attention to Luffy as he and his duplicates circle her and her crew, wondering aloud who the real one is. Bege is initially convinced that Luffy won’t reveal his location, but is completely amazed when Luffy immediately identifies himself. Enraged, Big Mom is about to attack him with Zeus and Prometheus, and seeing the portrait of Mother Carmel, Luffy rushes towards him. However, as he activates Gear 2 and prepares to destroy it, he is suddenly struck by a massive tendril of sticky substance coated with Busoshoku Haki. The tendril is revealed to be Katakuri’s leg, and Big Mom is initially angry at her son for interfering with her fight. However, Katakuri reveals that he foresaw Luffy’s destruction of the portrait, shocking everyone at the venue, and Bege fears that the plan will be foiled.
When Luffy can’t escape the substance, Katakuri slams it to the ground, but Jinbe walks in and sets off a burst of tea that frees Luffy. Jinbe reveals to Luffy that Katakuri ate the Mochi Mochi no Mi, a “special Paramecia” devil fruit that allows him to control mochi. Big Mom notices Jinbe and he tells her that he told the Straw Hats about Carmelo’s portrait. He then officially asks Big Mom to leave the Pirates to join the Straw Hats, and Big Mom asks if he will pay the price; he agrees, but under the condition that no one else is harmed. Big Mom then asks if she wants to stay or give up her life and Jinbe decides to give up her life. However, when Big Mom starts the Soul Pocus again, she is unable to draw Jinbe’s lifespan because she is not afraid for her life. Jinbe says that he can’t fear the emperor if he’s a crew member of the future pirate king, and decides to return the cup of sake that created their bond to say goodbye to Big Mom. However, Big Mom steps on the goblet and remarks that she and Jinbe are now enemies, prompting her to unleash a powerful attack with Prometheus. However, in the midst of the fiery explosion, Brook, who had disguised himself as Luffy and jumped out of the cake with the other duplicates, approaches Carmel’s portrait and smashes it with a hammer.
