One Piece Episode 836

Summary:

As Big Mom screams, she calls out to Carmel’s mother and asks where she went. A flashback starts, showing Big Mom’s past 63 years ago, when she was five years old. Linlin and her parents arrived at the shores of Elbaf by boat. Linlin’s parents tell her to stay on the island and promise Linlin that they will return and reward her with sweets if she waits for them. Linlin replies that he will stay and wait for them, and bids them farewell as they leave Linlin alone on the island. Linlin’s mother cries and her father says that it will be best for them to leave Linlin on the island after all the damage she has caused around them and hopes that Carmel’s mother will save her since she knows she lives on Elbaf. On the shore, Linlin sits down and waits for her parents to return, but the day passes and her parents do not come, causing Linlin to wonder why they are not coming as promised.

A century ago, there was a pirate crew of giants called the Giant Warrior Pirates who wreaked havoc around the seas and burned down countless cities. One day, the Giant Warrior Pirates lost their two captains when they started their duel at the Little Garden. Not long after, several members of the giant’s crew were captured by marines and were to be executed. However, young Carmel, known at the time as “Sister Carmel”, intervenes and tells the Marines to stop the execution. Carmel explains that if they were executed, the warriors of Elbaf will form an army to take revenge on the humans and tells the marines to forgive them. A beam of light flashes on Carmel and she says that she will lead the giants to create a world where all races coexist in great harmony. Eventually, Carmel is given the name “Mother” and opens an orphanage called the Sheep House, where she takes in children of all races who had nowhere to go when they settled on Elbafa, hoping to build a bridge of friendship between humans and giants. .

37 years later, Carmel’s mother meets five-year-old Linlin for the first time and promises that she will be in good hands until her parents return, telling Linlin that she will find good friends at the orphanage. Since Linlin had always been large, Elbaf was the first place she had been where people, houses, and other things matched her size, making Linlin fit comfortably in Elbaf. One day, Linlin spots a bear and a wolf fighting, knocks them both down, and tells them that fighting is not good. Later, Linlin sees Carmel crying and Linlin explains that she wanted the wolf and the bear to stop fighting and become friends, so she decides to put them in the same cage in the hope that the bear and the wolf will get along, but the bear ended up eating the wolf and Linlin hit him. Carmel asks how many times the bear hit and Linlin replies that the bear only hit once, shocking Carmel that Linlin was able to kill the bear with one blow. Carmel tells Linlin that it’s okay because she only wanted them to be friends, which Linlin eventually bonds with Carmel’s mother. For Linlin, Carmel was the first person who truly understood her. At that moment, the orphans started talking about how Linlin was a dangerous person who could kill a bear with one blow and even injured the giant after she tried to hit him with a mosquito and broke several of his bones. Linlin notices Carmel twice, once trying to get rid of the extra elbow joints of the orphan longfish and the fins of the orphan fish. Carmel informs her that it was normal for them to look like that because they each belonged to a specific race that made them bear these traits. Carmel pardons her actions and tells all the orphans to forgive her and that she is a nice child.

Ten months later, Oimo and Kashii discuss the ongoing duel between their former captains Dorry and Brogy and decide to check up on them in ten years. Linlin chases after a giant girl named Gerd, and Kashii asks her if they are done with their preparations. Linlin asks what the preparations were for, and Gerd tells her that Elbaf fasts for 12 days before the Winter Solstice. Linlin was surprised to think that she will not eat for 12 days and says that she will be hungry. Gerd replies that if he fasts, the festival will be pleasant. Meanwhile, a young Hajrudin is seen training with an Elbaf warrior named Raideen. There, two former captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates, Jarul and Jorul, praise Raideen for his warrior spirit, causing Hajrudin to be grateful for their arrival. Kashii asks why they have come and Jorul replies that they will gather all the orphans so they can all eat semla. Linlin asks what semla is, and Gerd replies that it is a very delicious sweet, much to Linlin’s delight, explaining that they will get enough nutrition by eating semla before they fast. Gerd gives a description of the semla to Linlin as they both end up drooling at the thought of eating the semla. Finally, they all gather at the banquet, ready to eat semlu with Jorul and Jarul thanking the sun for the birth of Loki, Goldberg, and Road, as well as the growth of the children. As a large amount of semla had already been produced, everyone began to give thanks and eat. Linlin eats semolina and immediately falls in love with it, she eats a huge amount of semolina very quickly until she is stopped by two giants who force her not to eat too fast as there would not be enough semolina for other people and tell her not to eat it. forget to thank the sun Linlin insists that he must eat the semolina and pushes the two giants away to eat the remaining semolina on the plate, saying that they were delicious. It’s been three days since the fast began and Linlin tells Carmel that she’s hungry, to which Carmel replies that fighting the bitter cold will lead to the sun shining and that it would be better for them to wait until the festival gets closer. Days 4 and 5 have passed and Linlin still feels very hungry, but she listens to Carmel to wait for the festival to start. Day 6 Linlin thinks about semle and says he wants to eat it. On the seventh day, Gerd rushes to Mother Carmel in a panic and reveals that Linlin has been on a rampage in the village. There, Linlin wreaks havoc and screams at the top of his lungs. As everyone is shocked at what Linlin has done, Jorul walks in and says that she has no right to thank the sun and her actions are unforgivable, declaring that he is the god of disaster in a child’s body. He draws his sword to knock her to the ground and Carmel tells him to stop as Linlin calls for the millet.
