Summary:
Gazelleman takes Tama to the city of Bakura, a city full of Kaidou’s officers. She is taken to Holed’em, who tries to pinch Tama’s face to test her powers. Meanwhile, Luffy and Zoro chase after her, where Kiku reveals himself to be a samurai.
The Gazelleman barks with laughter as it rushes towards the horizon and carries off Tama, and as Batman’s arrows draw their attention, Luffy and Zoro are powerless to save her. To Zora and Tsuru’s surprise, Kiku grabs the resting katana and chases after the gazelle man. With his running abilities too great to match on foot, Kiku climbs to the top of Komachiyo to catch up. Realizing he must do the same, Luffy lunges at Komachiyo and performs his Gomu Gomu no Mi power in front of Tsuru and Kiku. Zoro hitches as he shoots and mounts the giant dog. Luffy calls out to Tama and promises to recapture her. However, they are attacked again by Batman’s arrows. Luffy hits back with a high jump and a very powerful punch, but Batman parries the blow and retreats, mission accomplished.
Kiku suggests that the kidnappers are heading to the nearby town of Bakura. Because of her katana, Zoro expresses his suspicions about Kiku’s true identity. Kiku ties up her hair and announces that she is a samurai. Meanwhile, Gazelleman contacts his boss, Holed’em. He confirms that he captured the child that tamed their baboon patrol, and orders Holed’em to deliver Tama to him, saying that she should be useful.
In Bakura, a sumo match begins in the square, which excites a large crowd. Urashima, in a nearby bar, steams over Zoro, stopping his earlier attacks on Kiku. His troubles are overheard by Mouseman, who tells the wrestler that he has the wrong idea about wooing Kiku. He imagines that if Urashima used his social influence against the poverty-stricken woman, destroying everything she cares about so that only he is left and leaving her nowhere to turn would be much easier than winning her love. They both laugh mischievously at the thought, and Urashima exercises his newfound sense of superiority by ordering the elderly bar owners to cook their pet raccoon for him to eat.
Tama is brought into Holed’em’s dwelling and is pushed in front of him. Holed’em’s ferocious lion head gives Tamu fear as Luffy’s group approaches the city arch. Tama tries to act strong when Holed’em’s true form is revealed. The lion’s face is only attached to the real Holed’em’s waist and has a mind of its own. Holed’em engages in a fight with the lion, who retaliates by striking him with great force in the groin. Holed’em howls in pain, as does a lion, for they both share the same body. His subordinates question why they never seem to remember such a weakness. After Holed’em wakes up, he interrogates Tamu about how she tamed Hihimaru. Tama refused to reveal her powers to the enemy, claiming that the animals simply love her. However, Holed’em is not fooled and already knows from her men that her strength has something to do with pulling her face. He orders his men to bring in some pincers and grabs Tama as she yells at Luffy once more.
As the city guards prepare for Luffy’s intrusion, Bepo is seen overlooking the valley and is horrified to identify Luffy. Luffy rests in a tent and his presence is reported to Law. He is enraged when he discovers that Luffy is threatening their plan by invading Bakura City, and gathers his crew to hold them off as Tamino’s cries for help incite Luffy’s anger even more.
