Summary:
Wan’s favorite courtesan heads to the palace, but a revenge plot threatens the proceedings.
Komurasaki the Oiran parades through the streets of the flower capital, stunning the audience with her beauty.
In Udon, Luffy continues to break rocks, but is approached by Caribou, who begs for food. Previously, Caribou met Luffy in the Sabaody Archipelago and terrorized Fish-Man Island, but was defeated by Luffy. He later continued his crimes in the New World until he was captured by X Drake and sent to Udon for hard labor.
Meanwhile, Kyoshiro’s followers who have been defeated by Sanji report to their leader. Kyoshiro is unfazed by this, but decides to contact Queen to send assassins on Sanji. At the castle, Orochi finally appears as a multi-headed snake.
At the parade, a group of people threaten to assassinate Komurasaki. However, the guards quickly defeat them.
More is revealed about one of the killers, an old man named Bingo. Bingo was an old man who fell in love with Komurasaki, who promised him that they could live together if Bingo would buy her freedom from the pleasure house. To make money, Bingo became a stingy moneylender who sold his warehouse, left his wife, and stopped buying medicine to save money. Sick and homeless, Bingo eventually raised the money to free Komurasaki from the pleasure house.
However, he discovers that Komurasaki was spending Bing’s money on herself and she had no intention of marrying him. Humiliated, penniless and heartbroken, Bingo was brutally beaten by other men.
In the present, Bingo and the other assassins are exiled from the Flower Capital for being poor. Komurasaki reveals that she is using unsuspecting men for their money.
The anime adds the following:
Usopp and Franky try to stop Bingo, Bongo and Bungo.
Flashback scene of Bing proudly showing how rich he is and scenes of him oppressing poor citizens.
Scenes from Caribou’s Kehihihihi in the New World are shown.
In the manga, Bingo, Bongo, and Bungo were knocked down while attacking Komurasaki. In the anime, Komurasaki’s guard charged at them instead.
In the manga, the guardian subdued all three of the trio at once. In the anime, the guard hits Bungo first then Bingo and Bongo. The guard also punches Bongo several times.
The manga never specified when Bingo and Komurasaki first met, but the anime revealed that it was almost a year ago.
In the manga Bingo said he sold his family, but in the anime he said he abandoned them instead.
